De Vero Salon & Day Spa – I purchased a Groupon for De Vero Salon and made my appointment. I was looking forward to getting my hair cut and styled. The day had finally arrived, I was on my way to the appointment that was at 5:30 and was delayed due to traffic. So, I called them at 5:15 to let them I would be running a little late due to traffic. The receptionist said , “Oh, you’re the Groupon customer, how late will you be, I said 5 maybe 10 minutes late. She put me on hold to ask the stylist how late she would be working that day, note, they close at 6:30, which would have been enough time to cut and style my hair if I got there 5 to 10 minutes late. The receptionist came back on with an attitude stating that the stylist was not going to stay late. So I asked, if I am 5 to 10 minutes late, is the stylist going to be there? She repeated herself “she is not going to stay late”, I asked again if I get there 5 to 10 minutes late, will she be there? The rudeness got worse with her tone “she is not going to stay late”. The receptionist did not even offer to try and work with me, or even offer another day or time or see if another stylist could assist, she just left me hanging there. After a long moment of silence, I said OK and hung up. At 5:45 the receptionist called with an attitude and said, “so, are you coming or not” I was shocked. I shook my head and told her no. After this happened, I started reading some reviews on this place. After reading some of these reviews, I am lucky this happened, it looks like I would have been walking into a place that doesn’t care how they treat clients or cut hair. I called Groupon to inform them of my phone experience with De Vero Salon. The conversation with Groupon was very professional and very helpful.
Worst Service – Leila always does a fabulous job on my hair. Unfortunately while my mother was in town I made a last minute appointment and had someone else give me a trim. She added more layers when I asked her not to but I'm not one to complain. After getting home and trying to style it myself I realized I just needed to go in a have it fixed. Leila fixed it and I was more than willing to compensate her for her time. We both thought that I wouldn't be paying for the service since she was fixing a bad haircut in the first place. WRONG! Sarah informed that because of payroll I had to pay the full amount again. So I ended up paying $130 plus tip for a trim. That is the most expensive hair cut I have ever had. Thanks!
