Flighty Service but Delicious Pizza.
A friend recommended trying Luigi's, and my wife and I stopped by to check it out last week. I don't know Houston geography too well yet, but the location seems out-of-the-way. Regardless, the pizza was delicious. We got two and ate half of each (and boxed the rest up for leftovers). One was made with fresh mozzarella, and the cheese was great at first, but as it cooled it lost some of its pazzaz. The other pie was a cheese pizza with Canadian bacon and green peppers. This one was great, and it was just as good heated up in the microwave two days later!
The prices are great, and they have a BYOB policy, which is nice. They have some tables outside, but they were all taken when we got there (it was finally a nice non-humid evening in Houston!). Inside there were tables remaining. Nearly the whole time we were there, there was a line of customers snaking from the counter to the front door. Some were picking up to-go orders, some were getting gelato, and a few were order food to dine in.
The woman taking orders was overly nice, almost to a degree that you couldn't tell if it was sincere or an act. Anyhow, she was also very flighty, paying attention to the ordering and the kitchen, and not doing a very good job with either. I overheard a cook get angry with her, and she almost always had to have the people placing their orders repeat them, sometimes twice!
Overall, I will be back. We saw many people get house salads delivered to them, so we will probably try one of those, as well as some of the gelato that looked so good (although it is pricey). And of course, next time we'll bring along a nice bottle of Italian red.
little pizza gem. Delicious pizzas! And has gelato and fruit smoothies too. A welcomed break from McDonalds and Subway for the HCC student. Unfortunately for them, their location does not bring a lot of traffic as San Jacinto does, so go there before they go out of business. It's worth it!!!
This is a Gem! BYOB a plus.!.
We were visiting Houston and found this place on the internet. From the moment we entered the pizzeria, Luisa (owner) treat us like if we were family.
You can bring your own bottle of wine and enjoy your favorite pizza or salad with the wine of your preference. No matter if it's and Insignia or a Beringer the corkage is on the house.
If you have a young family they will find kids and adults alike, playing Bocce on the outside.
In summary this is a great (and unexpensive) place to enjoy fantastic pizza, hangout with your kids and/or friends. Maybe it is just simply a place to open a bottle of wine with good company.
Best New York Style Pizza in Houston! + BYOB!. My wife and I love pizza, and some of our favorites around Houston are Star, Colina's, and Late Nite Pie. Luigi's is right up at the top with these other great pizzas in Houston. Frankly, it is the best new york style pizza we have found in houston. The owners are extremely friendly, and its BYOB as well! I personally love the Caprese, FRESH basil, moz, garlic and Louigi's sauce, all on perfectly cooked thin and crispy dough!
