Excellent service - Del Frisco's does it right!.
I'm not huge on Texas steak. Blasphemy, I know, but the portions are always so large, that when I eat steak in Houston, I feel like a cow in the literal sense. It makes me feel heavy, big, large, bloated. So for me, eating steak is an exercise in portion control. I try not to get overwhelmed by the large piece of meat and just savor each tasty bite. Yes, I do like steak, just give me a smaller one please.
I didn't know what to expect when we booked Del Frisco's for Houston Restaurant Week 2010. The menu offerings were fantastic, and my mouth was watering reading over descriptions that included lobster tail and ribeye. When it came down to it, I ordered the 10 oz ribeye (smaller than their normal menu serving), thinking that I would get smallish piece of meat. Not so, the portion was extremely large, and served with an extremely generous helping of mash potatoes. The meat was cooked to perfection, and the service was exemplary. The wedge salad, likewise, was huge, and the cheesecake dessert similarly endowed. In my mind I'm thinking: "all this for $35? and they donate $5 of it to the Houston food bank?" It was clear that the word had spread about Del Frisco's unbelievable HRW bargain. The restaurant, on a Friday night, was packed and bustling. People were happy to chow on the ostentatious Texas-sized grub, which included mouthwatering lobster tail I admired from afar, sirloin strip, filet mignon, pork chop and much more. We received top-notch service, and our server, far from being overly aggressive or put-out by the fact that the entire table was ordering HRW menus, was on point the entire night with courteous, attentive service. As I left with a bag full of to-go, I thought: Del Frisco's does it right. If you offer a tasting menu like this, people will remember it and come back. My husband was happy to spread the news to fellow food eaters, and by Sunday we had already booked a return visit.
FANCY.
if you want fancy, GO TO DEL FRISCO'S!!
Had date night with the wife. Wanted to do something extra out of the ordinary so I told her to put on her best dress and surprised her with a night out to del frisco's! SHOCK AND AW all over her face when we walked in. (She had only heard me talk about this place)
Now, I've been here a few times for business dinners and lunches and it's always amazing don't get me wrong. I don't know if it was my wife's excitement, the wine, or just sharing the whole experience with the love of my life, but Del Frisco's outdid themselves by a landslide!
I got their porter house steak, sauteed mushrooms and their jalepeno bacon mac and cheese (my eyes were much hungrier than my stomach) and it was all incredible. I was so stuffed but I have never been more excited to take home leftovers.
My wife got the fliet mignon with their king crab gnochi. Needless to say, it's her new favorite restaurant. Can't say I blame her one bit!
She loved it so much we're actually taking her parents there this weekend! CANT WAIT!
Top notch service!.
My boyfriend, his sister and I went to eat here for dinner. It has an awesome atmosphere and the service was absolutely excellent! The host, the servers, and the managers were super helpful! I have nothing to complain about because they took care of us well. Managers were also making sure that they are giving all their costumers the best fine dining experience they could offer! Food and the menus were fantastic.
Would definitely recommend Del Frisco to anyone!
Loved It. Went there for restaurant week and had excellent food and wonderful services each time. I loved my overall experiences there and will definitely go back for their regular lunch or dinner menu.
Worth Every $100.
Ok, let's be honest, it's expensive. BUT, it is so worth it for the overall experience and quality. I have never had anything bad at this place. the only time we ever had a bad experience was Valentine Day when everyone and their grandma was out. BUT, without us even complaining or saying a word, the manager appeared and apologized for the wait on our dinner's, and comped 75% of our TOTAL bill. That is what I call service and awareness. I was in shock.
We went last night for my Birthday and had Amber as our server. She is awesome, but unfortunately is leaving, so ask for Lenny. Joe is upstairs in the bar and gives great service and friendly conversation. Oren will also make a drink that might give you the big "O"!!! haha
I recommend the Shanghai Calamari, the wedge salad with extra bacon, and the strip cooked medium rare. YOU MUST have the mac and cheese (not on the menu), it is to die for. Don't get the onion rings though, presentation is great, grease is not. If you really want to spend some money on a great steak, go for the double eagle (not on the menu). for dessert, have the chocolate molten cake and a glass of champange to compliment the strawberries on top.
okay, yes we love this place, we have been about 5 times or so, and yes we drop a ton of money. But you can go on a budget, just don't order a bottle of wine, and split a few things. The portions are huge.
this is a must have once in your life. We have been to tons of places, but this place just wins.
Mall Restaurant?.
I tried to forget that this great steak place was in a mall, and went for happy hour. I never wanted to go, because I had heard that they had call girls there and older men. When I walked in, I only saw older people trying to look good for each other...which was okay. The place had low energy, unlike it's brother steakhouse Sullivan's which is a block away.
The restaurant is handsomely designed with dark woods and is very polished. The feng shui is a little off, because it faces East into a parking lot and has what seems like a long stairwell up to the dining area.
The customer service at the bar was fair. I didn't eat, but all of my friends said it was terrific.
I didn't know that Del Frisco's is called the "double eagle" steak house. I'm there for their cows, not endangered eagles. I went to their website, and it does not explain the term double eagle...I can only guess it's an award.
On their website, they also advertise an award-winning lemon cake. However, when I went to the dessert menu online, it is not mentioned or shown.
expensive but sooooo good. even thought they say steak but the seafood is great also. drinks are amazing there. i wouldnt do dessert, but who has room for dessert when the food is a good portion and amazingly great! beautiful restaurant.
GREAT and Romantic restaurants!!!.
Took my wife here for our anniversary which is on New years eve and had no issues getting a table or an attentive waiter......GREAT ambiance and Very Good Food, especially the SHRIMP cocktail (mmmm...still taste it now)
Manager came by and was very courteous and congratulated us on our anniversary!!!!
AWESOME food and Attentive service. I went to Del Frisco's for restaurant week, so the price was good, and the food was exceptionally good. I ordered the fillet and it was fantastic! The only other place who beats it is Pappas. I think it even beats Taste of Texas and Flemings. It was fantastic! Cooked perfectly and the taste was unparallel! It literally melted in my mouth! I will for sure go back for restaurant week 2010, or if we are celebrating something special I would very much consider going there. It is just a bit pricey, but for as good as the food was, I wouldn't mind spending that amount of money for it. Del Frisco- 2 thumbs up!!
