In Short
Boot camps are held at seven area locations including parks in the Westchase District, the Heights, Friendswood, Sugarland, Cypress, Katy and the Medical Center. Each camp is four weeks long with a five-day signup or three-day morning or evening options. Expect each hour-long session with your personal trainer to include a lot of core work and an ever-changing mix of running, weights, obstacle courses, cardio and yoga--without the militant vibe of a lot of similar groups.

I used to be in really good shape but, 3 kids and 10 years later, things just aren't the same! I was initially a little intimiated at the thought of a "boot camp" but decided to give it a shot. I was relieved to see that there's a really good mix of ladies doing this... I'd say the youngest is probably 25 and the oldest probably mid-late 50's. (Let me just say that the oldest lady in the group is probably in the best shape! Impressive!) Anyway, I'm certainly far from the picture of fitness but the workouts are really enjoyable. I feel like I'm pushing myself a lot harder than I would if I were working out on my own but I don't feel left behind. The instructor (Linda in Katy) does a really great job of pushing you but also helping you modify exercies if need be. I would recommend these fitness boot camps to anyone looking to get in shape and have a good time in the process.
Pros: Good workout, fun environment
Cons: Getting up at 5am... but after it's over it actually feels pretty good!
