“The teriyaki dinners are way overpriced.”
“I could have pushed my dissatisfaction more, but service was ultra slow that night and I was hungry, so I just ate it.”
They play house music and it is quite loud... But the food was fantastic. We will be going back... Even though I'm not happy about the music. Also they offer a military discount but apparently only if you mention it.
The best Sushi restaurant. This place is absolutely awesome!! Everything from the service to the foot was excellent. The sushi was amazing and we got what we ordered within 10 minitues of ordering.
LOVE IT!.
I have never been disappointed with their food or service!
The only thing is the price is a bit expensive.
I definitely recommend this restaurant!
Far From the Best. My wife and I decided to give Toro's a chance on a whim. I myself have only recently been introduced to sushi, but have come to enjoy the subtle taste of different types of fish. Though the service was great, the sushi was not. My wife ordered the hibachi scallops, which were over cooked and very chewy. My first roll of spicy tuna came out relatively fast (due to it probably been sitting there for awhile) and my first taste was horrible. The rice was either over cook or old and the tuna seemed to have been minced to a horrible paste like substance. On top of that it seemed that the roll just had plain old chili powder on top to give it some spice. The other two rolls that came were very small and look to have been rolled in a haste, due to the whole roll not covered by rice. The rolls were unusually small, uneven, and top with loads of panko bread crumbs. I guess they think if they add enough panko crumbs it makes the dish look bigger. Even though I ordered off the happy hour menu, I still felt like there were other places that would have done better for less. Ichibon across from Greenspoint Mall is pretty good and Matsu's on FM1960 is excellent. I guess in the end you always get what you pay for.
the horrible bday experiance.
I came to this place because i was told it was really nice! & sure, it is really nice good service from the young guys that are waiters there.
But one thing i remember was- the "old lady"- host with the weird haircut didnt even welcome me & my husband ( his bday). she sat us n just threw the menus to me! good thing she wasnt the waitress because i didnt see her face anymore! If shes the manager replace or sumthing.....
However, my husband loved the Nabiyaki udon
Where to start?.
A girlfriend of mine recommended this place and told me that the food was good it's cheap during happy hour from 1400 to 1900. We went on a Friday night as a family with our sons. From the moment we entered the door, we found the hostess the young and the older one were both inattentive and less than welcoming. They failed to acknowledge the customers who were waiting and seemed highly anxious, affected easily by the volume of people waiting. The entrance of the restaurant has no room for those waiting, so people stood around waiting and waiting. We ordered the hibachi dinner which was overcooked! The hibachi cook was nice enough though, he was one of the good things during this dining experience. Four a family of 4 expect to spend at least 100.00 for the hibachi dinner.
The pros: ambiance, the hibachi cook, but nothing else.
The cons: rude hostess at the front both the young one, the older one, the price, the value, not so family friendly.
Probability of returning to this place: low
Would not recommend to friends!
Great Sushi & Nice Environment. This restaurant has been my favorite Sushi place since my first visit. The location is great and the restaurant has romantic environment. It's a great place for a date. The sushi here has not disappointed me with the fresh stuff always. The hibachi looks a lot of fun for a big family. It's definitely a place to suggest if you are looking for a place for some Japanese food. Nice work!
good place bad manager.
her name is carol i believe.
she is rude.
i applied there
and told her i needed the job because my husband got
layed off due to the economy and she turned around
and laughed.
she sleeps on the big booths all the time.
and doesnt help at all.
she really needs to get fired.
or get her act together.
i will not go back until one or the other happens.
they are going to lose a lot of business because of her.
FOOD WAS AMAZING!. My husband and i have been to SEVERAL sushi restaurants. He's not a sushi lover AT ALL, he's tried so many types of sushi from different restaurants and he's never been pleased. We went to Toro Japanese Steak house and he LOVED IT! our waiter was super nice and suggested sushi specials, some that weren't even on the menu. He went out of his way to make our visit to Toro great! I'm a Toro customer forever!
Superb Service!. The Manager Mary Jane was so pleasant and our waiter Peter was so helpful and very fast! It was very clean and prepared very well! I will go back as often as I can! Colby.....
