Editorial Review for Rock Wine & Blues – by Andrea Loera

In Short
Located in the Orleans Square Shopping Center just west of Lake Houston, this spacious club shakes the rafters with live rock, jazz, R&B and blues Wednesday through Saturday nights. The club features plenty of seating and lounges for locals enjoying the music (most seats afford a view of the main stage) and nightly happy hour specials. The large circular bar turns out some potent cocktails including house martinis such as pineapple upside-down cake and raspberry cheesecake.

The atmosphere and vibe of this place reminds me of clubs that I have been to in Chicago or LA. The music was outstanding. I was very surprised to find such a great wine list. Most places in Houston have the standards. Rock Wine & Blues had many boutique wines. The drinks were reasonably priced and the service was great. It was very busy the night I attended the club. The club is very spacious so I never felt cramped or crowded. My friends and I came in during Happy Hour on a Friday and stayed for the first set of the band. I have been back most every weekend after. I really like this place. It just feels comfortable. It was a great experience all around.

I have been visiting Rock Wine & Blues every since it opened a couple months ago. I absolutely love this place almost as much as my wife does. It's nice to have a place where females feel comfortable and a guy can just get a good drink and relax in a nice enviroment. The prices are fair and the staff is top notch from the doorman to the quick bartenders. My wife is completely in love with their Pineapple Cake martini and the music is awesome every time. It is definatly a much needed getaway for this side of town and I would recommend that everyone visits this bar. Kudos Rock Wine and Blues!!!

Pros: Great Music, Great Drinks, Great Wine, Great Staff

Cons: They're not open everyday
