Meh... depends on what you're looking for. First red flag for me (judge away) was that they don't have a liquor license, so as a pregame eating destination, it left me a little dry. The service was acceptable. The food was okay, not great, but reasonably priced at least. It's obviously brand new, so maybe they're still working on the atmosphere, but it felt like a cafeteria. If you're looking for reasonably priced food, with a not very inventive Blue Plate Special-style menu, and the bland, family-friendly atmosphere is more your speed, give it a try. You might be more comfortable at Luby's though. If you want a place to get better food and cheaper drinks than MMP, this just isn't it. Wish I knew ahead of time.

Nice place to go for lunch. At first, I was taken back by the open entrance into the restaurant, as you almost feel everyone stops to look. The decor is "down home" and comfortable. The waitress took our drink orders as soon as we sat down. She had a good attitude throughout. There's a wonderful variety of meats, veggies, and desserts to choose from. I had a garden salad and the chicken tortilla soup. I was shocked when I asked the waitress what came on the salad, due to certain allergies, and she said it's just lettuce. I added what I wanted which was free of charge and the lettuce was cold and fresh and the raspberry vinaigrette is yummy. Their chicken tortilla soup was excellent! It's in a thick creamy sauce which I love, not your typical thinned out tomato base. We ordered the cheese cake (toppings optional) which was also good (but not the best I've had).

When it came time to pay, our waitress apologized that their computers were down to swipe the credit cards and if we could wait five minutes. Five turned into 10 and we ended up paying by check and cash. The manager was ultra-apologetic which we appreciated.

All in all, this is a great new place to go for lunch. I can imagine it gets pretty packed around baseball games. I would definitely go back to sample everything else!

I'm a raving fan about this place. Comfy, Cozy, Relazed Atmosphere, Exceptional Service, Quality Food.... I was amazed as I entered Bells & Whistles' beautifully handcrafted glass doors. The hostess was all smiles and immediately guided me to a table with a scenic view of Texas Ave. Within 30 seconds my server warmingly greeted me and offered me a delicious, mouth-watering, fresh fruit smoothie. I chose strawberry-banana (my favorite). She then proceded to tell me about the daily special, Blackened Tilapia, fresh mashed potatoes with brown gravy, and a cucumber tomato salad with a white roll. Sold! My food arrived in about nine minutes and was absolutely to die for! My server also anticipated my needs and brought me a glass of water without me having to ask. She didin't bother me too much, but made sure to prebus dirty dishes and pick up my trash. Very professional. When I was finished she kindly asked if I wanted to take a dessert back to the office to munch on later. I agreed to a New York Style Strawberry Cheesecake. It was like biting into a fluffy piece of heaven, when I later tasted it. On my way out the managers kindly thanked me for my business and introduced themselves. They seemed pleasant and truly wanted to know what I thought of their new establishment. I would definitely urge everyone to check this new spot out.
