I went to their Huffmeister location yesterday and I got the worst haircut and color of my life. Avoid this salon at all cost. I walked in with light brown hair with blonde highlights and red lowlights with long layered hair. I walked out with black hair, about 6 blond highlights (4 on one side, 2 on the other side, 1 in the back, and a couple underneath), my long layers that I had are now above my ears. It looks horrible down and I look like a rooster with it in a pony tail. Then to top it off I had an allergic reaction and ended up in the ER. I called them to ask for a refund and they said that they do not do refunds. The lady that I spoke to offered to fix my cut and color. First off I had just told her that I was in the ER with an allergic reaction to the color. Why in hell would I allow her to use the same color on me?!?! Then she offered to cut my hair. I'm already furious about how short it is and she's saying that she can cut it some more to make the layers even on each side of my head and blend it in. I don't want my hair shorter and after offereing to recolor my hair with something I'm allergic to there is no way that she or anyone elset there is going to touch my hair.

I LOVLOVLOV Modern Salon!! They r TRUE ARTISTS & i trust the 2 i go to 100%: Sue is my colorist & Long, the owner, cuts it. iv also had Manny cut it once or twice & he is also VERY talented! He's cut my 15y/o's hair for the last couple of yrs & my hard-2-please, ringlet & super thick (= TONS of it!) haired son has ALWAYS bn VERY pleased! I've bn to their newest salon on Huffmeister, twice, but my VERY FAVE remains the N.Houston-Rosslyn salon, b/c it's always busy & exciting, & I LOVE ppl-watching! 1 time som1 else did my hi-lights & they were too chunky, & Long was MORE THAN HAPPY to hav it fixed, immediately, for me & that's how I discovered Sue's GREAT work! Now, I don't go to ANY1 else for color, & Long (or Manny when Long is away @ a hair show) for my cuts! & I get compliments even **MONTHS LATER**, when I'm PAST TIME for an re-do!!! Seriously....LOTS! Long has his artists in training classes & hair shows, frequently, to keep up on new styles & techniques! They r all extremely well-trained, INCREDIBLE ARTISTS! & all the ppl complaining abt a long wait? Simple answer: DO NOT GO on FRI or SAT's if u don't wanna wait!!!! YOU can control THAT URSELF! Try mornings, especially on Tue-Thu, for less busy times! Also, try TELLING THEM when u make ur APPT, that you only have however much time, & LET THEM HELP U figure out when would be BEST! Cuz Modern Salon CAN'T HELP THAT EVERY1 n Houston, practically, wants their hair done by Long's ARTISTS!!! Deal with it......OR go elsewhere, spend MORE $, & get a totally sub-par hair-don't!!! ;-D

I have been getting my cut for 3 years by Heather Phillips. Although I moved to the DFW when I come to town I still manage to get my hair cut by Heather :)... I never met a stylist that was so artistic. I can honestly say that she ALWAYS does such a great job with my hair. She has such a genuine personality because, she makes you feel comfortable and she takes the time to get know her clients. I always recommend her to my family and friends.

I personally love my stylist-Heather Phillips. She is AMAZING. She is the best stylist ever. When we first met I was actually looking for someone to cut and style my sisters have for her birthday and I wanted someone who was not timid to do any style since my sister wanted a new look. I was automatically pointed in her direction and been satisfied ever since. She is the stylist for our family also and she has become more like family over the years. You can feel confident when she does your hair and she will never steer you wrong.

I went to the Modern Salon on Huffmeister for the first time. The salon is an amazing environment by itself, and the staff are all friendly! I got my hair done by Heather Phillips and I absolutely love it! She has never once done me wrong, and in this salon she works her best! Definitely coming back!

Tried Modern Salon on Huffmeister for the first time in mid July from a friend's recommendation and still love my hair a month later. Kim did an awesome job! I will definitely be back - keep up the great work!!!

This salon is beautiful. And the people working here are eager to please and are true artists. Everyone here is passionate about what they do and give great advice on what to use and to do to keep my hair healthy. Def coming back!

DO NOT go here. I had to wait 40 minutes and then had about 4 different people, some of whom didn't seem to understand English, work on my hair. The highlights looked chunky and terrible...and the worst part is my hair is VERY damaged and is breaking off in pieces. When I confronted them about this, they acted nonchalant and rude. didn't even bother to apologize for totally messing up my hair. I will never go back there. you get what you pay for.

AWESOME SERVICE!!!. I HAVE GONE TO THE SALON ON N HOUSTON ROSSLYN FOR YEARS... THEY FINALLY OPENED ONE ON MY SIDE OF TOWN 290/HUFFMISTER SO I NOW GO THERE.... LOVE THE WAY THEY TREAT YOU, THEY ALWAYS ASK IF I WOULD LIKE A DRINK, ETC...LONG HAS ALWAYS CUT MY HAIR, AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED!!! HE IS SUPER STYLISH, AND IS RIGHT ON WHEN IT COMES TO HAIR TRENDS, ... AND BEST OF ALL, "GREAT PRICES"...YES YOU MAY HAVE TO WAIT A BIT, BUT IT IS ALL WORTH IT!!!

GREEDY & THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. When I first came to this place I loved the way they cut my hair....But then I saw what this salon is really about.

They maybe reasonably priced but with out good service its sooo not worth it!!! Dont bother making an appointment with any one you would want to do your hair! You will walk in and there is no one to greet you. You have to walk through all the chaos of people to get to the reception desk. Then you wait and wait and wait!!! I waited for almost an hour for my stylist. Then they sit me down and someone else is asking me what im there for.....I dont see my stylist for another hour. Then they have someone else doing your color. Next they put you in line with about 20 other people waiting for a dryer! ummm shouldnt I only have this color in my hair for a certain amount of time??? Hmmm then its like they forget about you.....Then some random person comes up and asks who did the color and of course i have no idea!! Then after the dryer you get stuck to wait again for a place to get your hair washed....you wait and wait. Then after you get your hair washed they send you out dripping and sit you down where ever there is room. Then you wait and wait some more. During all of this your stylist is cutting and coloring all these other peoples hair. Then if you are lucky your stylist will come and cut your hair! But your not quarenteed that she will blow dry it! They will have 2 people blow dry it to get you out of there faster! NOT COOL!!! YOU WILL END UP SPENDING YOUR WHOLE DAY OFF UP THERE! Dont make plans for anything that day because you wont make them!!!! They do not know how to run a business and only care about MONEY!!
