So relaxing!. I had the greatest day at Lake Austin spa! Everything about it was relaxing. The location of the spa is just enough removed from the city that you feel like you are really getting away from everything. When I checked in, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. I loved that the atmosphere and the people were all very relaxed and down to earth...not pretentious like some places. The Blue Room was so pretty! What a nice place to wait! I had the Custom Comfort massage with Kimberly. She was amazing. That was the best massage I've ever had. And, she's truly a massage "therapist". I have poor circulation in my legs and feet which causes them to ache. She noticed it without my saying so and she made them feel so much better! And she recommended a couple physical therapy sort of things to help. I also had the Personal Best facial. My esthetician was Mitzi. She was really friendly and did a great job, as well. Choosing the music for the facial was a nice touch, too. The cafe was peaceful and lunch was delicious. Lake Austin Spa is in a really serene location, full of friendly and talented people. What a relaxing day! I can't wait to go back!
The Worst Experience at a Spa I've Ever Had. My husband and I were recently at the spa. I can tell you with certainty we won't be back. Our visit to the spa was most disappointing. I have been to the Camelback, the Couer d'Alene, Amelia Island Plantation, and The Woodmark to name a few. In all my visits to spas across the USA I have never had the displeasure of being spoken to in a derogatory tone while being hurried out of my private suite. Apparently some folks were going to be in the suite soon after us (though we weren't made aware of this until after the fact) so even though our suite came with a shower (which we thought we'd use to rid ourselves of all the massage oil, prior to putting our robes back on) and we were told to relax and take our time, they obviously didn't mean it. In fact, we had the cleaning lady pushing her way into the room as we were getting dressed. Then my masseuse had the audacity to remind me that there were showers in the locker room and that we should've used those instead. Unbelievable. How Lake Austin Spa has earned its reputation is beyond me. My husband and I were looking for peace and relaxation; instead we received unkindness and disrespect. Obviously I made a mistake in selecting Lake Austin Spa. On a much smaller note, I find it quite odd that the locker rooms are so far from the treatment rooms (you have to walk near the front desk to get to the stairs to get up to the massage area), that the showers are small and few in the locker rooms, and that the plumbing (toilets flushing) can be heard quite well while having a massage. This spa is certainly no place for relaxation. The one positive experience at the spa was actually the work of the salon. Kudos to my hairstylist.
Beautiful Destination Spa. I went to Lake Austin Spa Resort for a girlfriend's pre-wedding bachelorette party. We were looking for a place to relax and unwind before the big day and Lake Austin Spa was the perfect spot. The facility and grounds are beautiful and the pool is a great place to lounge. We all got different treatments and then relaxed by the pool and sunbathes. My massage was awesome and we even had lunch in their sunroom out by the pool which was delicious and healthy. It was a perfect day! I can't wait to go back!
Not going back! Horrible experience!.
After seeing this spa at several magazines I expected at least a decent massage. I had a really bad experience and I am not going back. First off, I requested a female masseur but a guy showed up. I decided to give it a try since I've never had a male masseur before and it turned out to be a disaster. He never got the right amount of pressure and whenever I ask him to put less/more pressure, I was either in pain or not feeling any of my muscles "massaged". It was the worst massage I've ever had. My boyfriend didn't like his massage at all either. I am sticking to my regular spa even though I have to drive so much more.
I loved eating delicious spa food at the cafe and the nature friendly setting is very pretty but you go to a spa to get a massage, not to eat.
Good swedish massage, average pedicure. I was expecting a little more from one of the top rated spas in the United States, but everything seemed about average with this visit to the spa. The changing facilities were nice, the robes & flip flops were nice. The blue waiting room seemed nice enough, very quiet. The massage was good & she asked if there were any special areas to be worked on. They had some complementary crackers & beverages in the kitchen when I got there but the crackers were gone by the time I finished my first treatment. I was dissapointed the Cafe closed so early as I was hungry after my massage & had time to waste before pedicure. The pedicure seemed average & no better then a walk in place. The pool was pretty but the weather was not great & it didn't seem worth the extra $25 I had to pay for the facilites usage.
Acclaimed destination spa on the banks of Lake Austin provides guests with nature-based treatments in a peaceful setting..
Guests enjoy cozy robes and the tranquil blue waiting room before indulging in an assortment of spa services. Treatment rooms (including outdoor cabanas and screened porch) reflect the resort's commitment to nature in addition to the organic gardens used in many of the spa products. Services (from a menu of more than 100 options) include massages, scrubs and wraps, East Asian therapies, facials and waxing. The Iris Salon offers men's and women's hair cuts and color, make-up application and nail services.
beautiful, luxurious, love it. Take advantage of the accommodations such as the sauna, whirlpool, steam room, indoor lap pool, and outdoor swimming pool. All of these are yours to use for the entire day when you go to the Spa. The setting is gorgeous, the people are wonderful, there are pathways and trails down to the lake with flower gardens all around. It is obvious that this place spends a lot of time on the little details. This is a perfect place to go with a best friend or a lover on your day off. You can lay on the outside patio while getting a pumpkin wrap (or many of the other treatments) with your significant other (like I did ;) ). I HIGHLY recommend Lake Austin Spa Resort.
JUST OK. THE SERVICES WERE OK BUT OVERLY PRICED. THE SETTING WAS PRETTY BUT NOT REALLY WORTH DRIVING SOOO FAR OUT OF THE WAY. FOR A SPA BEING RATED TOP TEN IN THE NATION, IT WAS OK, BUT I HAVE HAD MUCH BETTER IN AUSTIN. SEEMED A LITTLE SNOOTY
Way over priced!. Facilities are beautiful....the spa, pool and lake area are very nice. However, the pricing for the massages, facials and food are too much for what you get. Food is way below average...nothing special. The massage and facial are no better than what you get at a smaller more afforable spa.
