Tips for Massage Heights- River Oaks

Buyer Beware! I was a member for a year and massages for the most part were good with a few bad ones in there but my biggest complaint is trying to get out of your contract. Read every word carefully because they will make it very hard to get out of it. I was told I had to cancel it 30 days in advance and use all my massages before my next billing, which I did. I called to cancel before my next billing and was told no problem, she would mark my account and then when I had my last massage by the month end just sign the paperwork, which I did. I even asked if I was all done and I wouldn't be charged again and she assured me I was all done, no more monthly charges. But noooooooooooo- a charge appeared a month later so I called and spoke to the manager, I even had names of who I had spoken to. He said he would look into it and get back to me but he wasn't nice about it or apologetic. Still no response from him and the charge is still on my credit card. I will tell everyone I know not to go to Massage Heights, I feel ripped off!!! I will also be letting the BBB know.

great service. This was my first massage at massage heights vintage park and it was amazing.....!!!! cynthia was my therapist and she was so great. She made me feel very comfortable aand relaxed. If you get massages i highly recommend you to have cynthia be your therapist. If you have not gotten a massage i recommend you trying one....it is so great to relieve stress...my back was so tense and tight from stress and after that first massage i could tell the difference. with me stress takes a toll on my body, so, this is the perfect thing...i have my next appointment already scheduled...!!! (thank-you cynthia!)

Horrible. Front Desk Staff - Helpful

I was assigned a lady therapist. The massage was Ok for the first 40 or so minutes, but when she rolled me over on my back, she made several sexual advances on me. She was "accidently" brush my private areas and waited to see if I would respond. After several embarrassing and awkward attempts, she asked me, "Do you not want this to be a part of your massage?" I WAS FLOORED! I had no idea this behavior existed at a franchise chain such as this one. Needless to say, I left in a hurry and never returned.

I assume if you are a male in your early 20's and single, this may be just the spot for you.

worst massage ever. The laddy that massaged me was terrible late, coming eating something ( I can hear her chewing some smelly food)

I ask for deep tissue massage, she was bulky to start with, but I can see and hear her foot against the wall to push her elbow against my bones ( yes bones forget the muscles) . I felt like a fire starter, was painful

When I asked her to slow down, she said "that is deep tissue honey"

Terrible pain for a week not from my muscles, that were still hurting, from her rough massage.

I put ONE start in case they trigger 5 stars if I do not check any., NO STARS at all

BAD SERVICE, BAD EXPERIANCE. You may think $39 is cheap for a massage BUT horrible service! Their reception desk doesn't know anything and tell you incorrect info. Do not get their membership because they simply do not know how to take care of their customers. They do not call to remind you of your appointments and do not care that your membership ends enough to tell you. Read the complete contract before signing. Also a very sterile environment, feel like i am at a doctors office rather than a spa. I have got many massages and been to way better spas in Houston. Now I know I rather fork the $100 for good quality service then this place. Go else where!

Long time Happy Member!. I have been a long time member at the River Oaks location. Great new management, always make me feel like I matter. Warm, friendly atmosphere always smells so good, clean restrooms. I go twice a month, sometimes once a week! Referred alot of my friends. Very pleased!

Think twice before signing up for a membership. Think twice before signing a contract with any Houston Massage Heights. I have had great massages there but unfortunately in the end, the hassle trying to communicate with the office staff (not massage therapists) has been a true nightmare. I fulfilled my one year membership, notified them at the end that I would not be renewing and gave my 30 day cancellation notice. However, that was over 45 days ago, and low and behold, I got membership dues deducted again from my bank account. After numerous attempts to get Andrea, the assistant Manager, to reply to my emails I contacted the Area Developer because I was getting nowhere. I’m still not getting acceptable communication from the River Oaks management (either none at all or what little I’ve had has been nothing but one excuse or lie after another) and I still do not have a refund on the membership dues that were charged to my bank account by mistake (they have acknowledged it was a mistake on their part, but claim it was due to a “programming error” in the cancellation system). After they’ve assured me they’ve put the credit through to my account (on March 17th and it’s now March 25th), I still cannot get anyone to send me a copy of the refund receipt to my bank account nor are the funds back in my account. For a company that promotes relaxation, they sure have given me lots of stress and frustration!

Not impress. I showed up early for my massage appointment and found out I had no appointment. I asked if I could get booked with another available therapist. The young lady working the counter said they only had two thrapist. I couldn't believe it. Only two therapist. Are you in the buisiness of trying to make any money.

Great Deal on 1 Hour Massages. I had never had a massage before and some people at my office were recommending Massage Heights. My wife actually bought a gift certificate for me for Christmas so I finally went in for a one hour massage appointment. I definitely recommend going there. I told my therapist to use firm pressure and she worked out some knots and stress points in my upper back and shoulders. It's very affordable and I actually signed up for a membership so I'm going to get a one hour massage once a month now. Go check it out for yourself! I went to the location off of Shepherd and Westheimer.
