A Gem in Daycare

After reading the review entitled "High priced childcare, not an educational institution", I was inspired to pen this review for Primrose school. My child has attended Primrose since she was 9 months old. She is currently in their Early Preschool program. Since the short time she has been at Primrose, I have watched my child excel in all aspects of learning and is very advanced for her age. Thanks to Primrose, she knows baby sign language, says a few words in Spanish, knows her ABCs, can count to 10 and can actually count items...she is not yet even 2! Needless to say, I have been very happy with the education provided at Primrose. I definitely get my money's worth. One observation, I don't know how much weight I would put in a review criticizing an educational institution when the author cannot even spell "curriculum".

High priced childcare, not an educational institution

The school is newly constructed, everything inside is nice and clean. That's about the only positive comment I can think to make about this institution. I decided to place my children into Primrose because of other parents' recommendations. However, what I soon found out was that not all Primrose schools are alike, they are all independently owned and operated. This new location has a very high ratio of underqualified, uneducated, and un-professional staff. At orientation, they boasted about their ciricullum and how well trained each and every member of their "teaching" staff was. Anything and everything they promised was merely a promise. They did not deliver on any aspect of what they tried so hard to sell. Primrose is just a name you pay for, other than that it is no different from the daycare down the road. It would be a great place but pricey to send your children to if you are only expecting childcare, if you are expecting your children to receive any type of educational fundamentals, you need to seek another institution. Our K-5 child is in a classroom with only 5 other children but yet cannot complete their assignments in class, how is it possible that a "teacher" cannot control 6 children? At the beginning of the school year, Primrose administrators boasted that their cirriculum was on 1st grade levels and our child would not have any troubles entering 1st grade the following year after completing their K-5 program. Well, sad to say we wasted alot of money and time at Primrose and our child will not be able to enter 1st grade next year because the results of the entrance exam fared below average. The results of the exam concluded that our child lacks the basic Kinder skills (which Primrose assured they've succeeded public school standards). As a parent, I wanted to share my experience so that no other parent/families will expect the Primrose name to deliver more than childcare.
