Love this venue! Cozy, great view from every seat in the house. The dinner is good, not amazing but nice to have the option.
Ok venue, but they include dinner with the ticket for a show, and this drives up the price. You can easily spend two hundred dollars a show if you take a date. Not good value for money in my opinion.
Excellent Food and of course Amazing Coffee, Friendly Staff. I got to enjoy the vocal group The Manhattan Transfer at this venue back in April 2012. This venue has it all... a great vibe & atmosphere, friendly staff, incredibly delicious coffee (they roast their own beans), great food, and the kind of intimate listening environment that makes listening to your favorite artists a rare treat. Go check this place out!
Do not miss the chance to experience Dosey Doe!. If you ever have the chance to experience a show at Dosey Doe - please take it. It is by far the most unique live-entertainment locale in Houston. Not only is the venue cool and perfect for acustics, the food is outstanding. I love this place and go whenever I can. You will too - enjoy!
Ridiculously expensive.. Yes, it's an intimate venue. But you pay for it! I mean, $100 to $150 dollars apiece to see a show? Plus beverages? The food is good but far from special. I took my son to see a show and when our tab arrived it was almost $400. Why can't they offer the option of tickets without a meal? Say have food on the main floor and not upstairs. I see live music weekly, but refuse to pay $400 for 2 people on a Wed. night...I don't care WHO it is.
best live band venue. Great place to catch a live band. Staff is helpful and friendly and they management treats you fairly if you have any ticket problems. Best sound around. One suggestion - make a couple of announcements before and at a break to ask the crowd to hold the talking down as much as possible. Half of the crowd at the last show that I went to , never heard much of any singing. They came there to socialize!!!
Best venue for listening to acoustic, Americana & Neo Folk. There is no other place in town to be this up front and personal with your favorite Americana, and Neo Folk musicians. This is not necessarily "Country" music, although some of the more traditional artists might be described this way. I have seen Paul Thorn more than once, Raul Malo, Marcia Ball, the Tricias, the Robinson brothers, and Asleep at the Wheel several times and many others, as well. If you listen to Outaw Country on XM radio, these are their artists, too, and not all of them are "country" either. It would be too simple to label these artists "country" as many of them are comfortable in more than one genre of music. This is just the very best in terms of acoustics, seating and fine food. I kind of hope it doesn't catch on too quickly as I am enjoying the feeling of a "private" club, and many of the artists I have enjoyed have also commented on feeling like they are in somebody's living room. I have only been to breakfast twice here and it was not bad food, but maybe this is not why you should think of the Dosey Doe. it is most of all a one of a kind place for musicians and their patrons to enjoy each other in the finest of concerts in the Houston area..
Bad Service!. We went to Dosey Doe for breakfest and this is the second time we were very disapointed in the service. It took 45 min before we got our order and there were only 2 tables there when we arrived. When the waiter was asked what the hold up was he said that since I ordered eggs benedict that was holding it up. We got our food and it was luke warm. My wife's grits were hard on top and almost cold. She couldn't eat her food. Our waiter disapeared for 15 min all the while the place was filling up and we could see other patrons getting frustrated. The guy in the cowboy hat that runs the place had his head in the sand and was oblivious to peoples frustrations. You could tell when we left he knew what was going on as he hid his face in his newspaper as we walked by. We will never go there again.

Never A Disappointment at Dosey Doe!!!. Have enjoyed many venues over past three years at Dosey Doe, never disappointed! Last night - no exception - saw Deryl Dodd and Rick Huckaby, Singer Songwriters- they were AMAZING! was like being in their living room, enjoyed how much they loved playing music together - concert was from 8:30 till 11:00 and I don't think they were ready to stop then, I could have stayed all night and listen to them, their voices were strong and rich and the songs were memorable - LOVED Huckaby's "Muddy Waters", " Mash the Gas" and something about you move me like a James Taylor song. Deryl Dodd was so fun and personable - LOVE Dosey Doe and what they have done to bring great music, good food and an inviting atmosphere all together to create a fantastic place for a date night or for entertainment for anyone and it feels like you're w/family! oh and the coffee is wonderful!!
Great Venue for Food/Music. Been there a number of times....last night phenomenal singer/songwriter Chuck Cannon from nashville was absolutely mesmerizing....such an intimate setting with great acoustics....and fantastic food!!! these shows with "RLRM" are such a treat.....and last night's show was amazing! ... thanks, Steve, Kyle, and Chuck
Best Dinner & Entertainment Around. I went here last night with my husband Chris and Tommy & Angela from Stryk TV (thanks guys!) ...to see Mark Chestnut. The atmosphere & food were great, and the entertainment was amazing. It was truly an amazing night!!! I have been to many restaurants and have been to many concerts, but I have never had an experience like this one. It was up close and personal, like being with a group of friends (including the performers!!!) This experience was something that I wasn't expecting, but absolutely loved! I recommend Dosey Doe's to anyone who wants a great night out - my husband and I will definitely be back!
