“Want a inexpensive night out with family or friends with who you can enjoy laughing and even being part of the comedy show then i would hig.”
Great Improv Training in Houston!. I am a current student at Third Coast Comedy and I've learned so much training with them. It has helped me tremendously with communications in my personal life and on stage. The teachers are positive, supportive and uplifting. If you want to improve your social skills or just become a better performer, this is the place to be. 5 Stars all the way!
Fledling Comedy Club with Great Potential.
My wife and I went to Third Coast Comedy on Saturday evening, April 10, 2010. We were two of six people in the audience (and I believe two of the others were related to cast members in one way or another). As you can probably guess, live comedy is very challenging with such a small crowd. I realized something I'm not sure I've thought of before: live comedy depends VERY heavily upon audience feedback and interaction. With six people in the audience, this element is nearly entirely missing. It led to some awkward pauses and uncomfortable chuckles; sort of a general feeling of nervousness throughout the evening.
And yet - I don't want to discount what these actors are providing. The evening we attended, the cast consisted of four actors - all of whom were talented and energetic performers (especially one middle-aged, bespectacled guy named Mike). Many genuine laughs, and a couple delightfully funny moments - usually involving the participation of one or more audience members (And, being so few in number, we all got the chance to be on stage at least twice.). I got the sense that if the room had been crowded with people, the energy would have been electric.
And it should be said that the very fact that Third Coast is providing clean, "above the belt" (to use their own term) humor is itself a notable contribution.
Bottom line: A good act that really needs to find an audience. If you're willing to contribute to their expanding growth, it would be a noble deed. And better yet - if you bring a large group of friends with you, you're bound to have a great time. (Wish I could give half stars, because this would be on the way to three, but not quite there.)
Family-friendly fun!. This is a super break from the norm of going to the movies on the weekends. It's great for all ages and very interactive! Perfect for dates, friends, family. Bring everyone you know!
Best Improv show in Town. I used to live in NYC before I came to Houston 5 years ago and I am glad that here I can find so many things to do too and is cheaper than NYC. Recently I discovered Third Coast Comedy and I loved it. It is my first option for bringing friends and Family for entertainment, specially the ?Improv? shows on Friday night. This is really happening in Houston, and you can be part of it, you should come and check it.. They are so funny. I have so much fun every time I go and somtimes they invite people on stage. The owners are very nice and everybody who is part of this little theater is great too.
