DISHONEST COMPANY!!!!!
by Ladybarbara
This business was mentioned on the radio as LotsofEvents dot com, when you insert that in your computer, it automatically brings up Events and Adventures. I called the woman before she could call me and was told the same thing many of you had to go through, like the interview, not being told the cost upfront and denying that they are called Events and Adventures. I made an appointment. Then I decided to Google to see what the cost was for joining LotsofEvents as well as Events and Adventures and I saw the RED FLAGS!!! Well, I've been burnt once but never again!! I saw all the complaints many of you have filled out. Just put in what is the cost to join in Google and the RED FLAG messages come up. Try it yourself.
I sincerely believe that if you ever see a positive review, it's been there because they were paid to do it!!
One of the women who works there says she reads the complaints all the time. She says they have 30,000 members and you are always going to get some complaints. The number I saw and it keeps growing, tells me to STAY AWAY. I wish the radio advertisement could be pulled as well as any advertising on TV. I'm going to look into it.
Bring your Lawyer when you go to sign up

Its nice to have planned events, but how much are you willing to spend. You buy a membership and here are the Rates 1 yr ~$1500 plus monthly dues at $30, 3yr ~$3000 plus $30 per month dues, lifetime $4200 with no monthly dues. Once you sign up you have 3 days to cancel or you are stuck paying them. They do not make this clear when you go to sign up. Also they do not make it clear you have to pay monthly dues for the 1yr and 3yr memberships which increase the membership costs by $360 per year.
I would recommend using meetup through facebook, going to church. At least you don't have to pay anything for those. E&A makes you feel like you are part of some elite club, but i feel stupid for paying them so much money. This was a learning experience for me. READ BEFORE YOU SIGN!!!
Not What It's Cracked Up To Be!

Yes, it is over-priced. What you may want to know though is......there are equal and even better offerings from other organized social clubs in town that are not as costly. There has been a change in Event Coordinators and I was hopeful there would be some different events. It seems to be a repeat of the same events and venues. They tend to be game nights/events at the club house, games in the park, hikes, happy hours with the occasional sports and arts events. The male to female ratio is anywhere from 1 male to 3 females or more. Great for the guys! The 40 plus crowd that they will lead you to believe is in equal proportion to all other age groups is not. The male to female ratio becomes even more disparate in this age group. The sales girl used the term "professional" ad nausuem in her sale pitch. You may want them to expound more on their definition of "professional" to see if it aligns with your definition. I joined after moving to Houston last year to meet people and I had tried many other social venues before joining. This has been a very disappointing venture. I felt with the price I was paying I would meet people with similar interests. There have been a few; however, I've met more people in other organized social clubs (HSS, BCO, etc.) that were professionals and had similar interests.
Don’t Waste Your Money!

I was lured into their office by a radio advertisement for an “informal information meeting”, but told to bring 3 forms for ID, and was told nothing about prices nor given any details over the phone, assured they would be covered in the meeting. Upon arriving, it quickly turned into an experience similar to being sold a timeshare or a used car.
A woman salesperson who was over-the-top nice to me talked up E&A like it was the answer to all my prayers. I was shown many photos of young, healthy, active people doing fun, outdoorsy things. When it finally came time to reveal the cost of their membership, I almost did a double-take. $2,000 just for the “privilege” to become a member, plus $30/month in additional fees, plus you are responsible for paying for the tickets to the events, the tab for any dinners, plus pay for drinks at the events. From what I’ve heard, any event tickets bought through them are marked up also, to get even more revenue and profit from members. When objecting to the excessiveness of this cost, the salesperson’s tone quickly changed, to the point where she became annoyed by my detailed questions about why this was so expensive, that she was doing a favor for me by taking the time to help me get in on this “special exclusive offer”, and not-so-subtly hinted that if I didn’t join I’d be lonely and single for the rest of my life. Finally I insisted I would like to think about it, and was told this “incredible offer” was only good right now, and that they would have to pass on this offer to the next person if I didn’t sign “right now!”.
There are plenty of free alternatives out there to meet singles. Speed dating, meet up groups, online clubs depending on your interests, etc. Many alternatives that are free or much less expensive and give you the same experience.
Waste of Time and Money!

I stupidly signed an unlimitted contract for $3,595!!! I know! what was I thinking??? the salesperson was very pushy making you feel like you’re joining this top of the line club where you’re going to meet awesome guys and you just have to join b/c if you don’t you’re going to end up alone and single for the rest of your life.
I paid $200 down, then started paying $80 a month and got it reduced to $50 a month. I was not able to get out of this contract. and had to pay the remainder I owed which was more than $2000 dollars otherwise they threathen to ruin my credit, I only went to 3 events (new members introduction was to bring a dish-I didn’t! movie/dinner $20, cooking class $40) Pretty much all the events you have to pay what the heck is my monthly dues for? The people here were not people that I would want to meet, this was totally a waste of my time and my hard earned money, never again!
This business deserves no stars but I had to pick one...
if you search for events and adventures scam you will find tons of people that this has happened to.
This is a total scam if you’re thinking about joining please find other ways to meet people.
