Best Coffee Spot in the City. Catalina Coffee is a great little coffee shop in a renovated historic building on Washington Ave. With free wi-fi and great service, this place is my favorite spot to stop on my way in to work.

I highly recommend the iced coffee drinks- they're cold brewed, resulting in a super-smooth coffee taste. The iced mocha isn't overly sweet and you can actually *gasp* taste the coffee over the chocolate. The baristas are all really helpful if you have any questions or need a suggestion. (If the iced mocha wasn't enough of a suggestion for you, how about a ham & cheese croissant? Yum!)

Despite all of the new business on Washington, this place still retains a laid-back, neighborhood vibe. Kudos to Max and his crew for doing such a great job!

The Best coffee in town.. We're not ones to pooh pooh a place because it's corporate or praise any independent because it's independent. We just love Catalina's coffee, the atmosphere and friendly service.

It's not a bad place to take a date after a nice dinner either. In addition to truly superior coffee, you can get a great dessert to go with it like chocolates or a cookie. They have ice cream and blended drinks we haven't tried yet as well as some tasty breakfast items and they have room to grow from there, not that they need to.

I also like to go there with my laptop to write and our 5 year old loves to have a snack there on the weekend.

Superb Coffee - cool friendly atmosphere. The most delicious Mocha I've *ever* had! Excellent, friendly service and by far the best coffee in Houston. Inside a lovely renovated historical Washington Ave building. Bring your puter for the free wifi and you must try the Ice Cream!

Well suited to its Washington Avenue address, this independently owned coffeeshop retains its historic building's characteristic brickwork and crisp, architectural style. With a limited menu of bakery goods, the emphasis is on the quality brewed coffee from around the world, espresso, blended beverages and teas. Display case goodies include brownies, scones, pastries, muffins, croissants, peanut butter cupcakes, dipped shortbread and more. Catalina also offers a selection of ice creams like the popular avocado.
