I recommend Davids Bridal

I had no issues with David's Bridal. I walked in, signed/registered at front desk, they selected Alice (bridal consultant) to assist me, I told her the style dresses I was interested in, she picked some out, I chose 3 that caught my attention, she helped me in the dressing room, was very patient and not pushy like other salespersons would be. I went on a Sat afternoon and had good customer service, she told me the payment options, I paid my dress, had it altered with enough time before wedding date and Alice did not get pushy about my veil or bridal slip which I purchased elsewhere for less. I was very satisfied with my dress and received a lot of compliments on it.

AVOID David's Bridal

We live in the area and thought we were doing right by shopping local instead of going downtown Houston.

We found "THE" dress on the 'net. Only available in stores. Went, tried on what they had on hand & placed an order for the right color. The sales girl that day was helpful, gracious and did her job. She told us we didn't have to buy the corset & slip that day and would be given a discount on them for buying there since we bought the dress there. Said we could wait till our dress came in and make sure we had the right under garments for the actual dress. Very nice girl.

She lied, apparently, but was nice.

Dress came, we went back. We were the ONLY CUSTOMERS in the whole store. We thought we'd be swamped with helpers. We were wrong.

Original sales girl was off work and new sales girl instantly acted like we had cooties or something. She seemed shocked that the bride was going to try on the dress. She didn't give her name, didn't offer to help with the dress - we had to ask her to help with some lacing. She didn't stick around to see if we might buy more stuff, we had to find her to ask for a slip and corset. While the bride struggled with the dress in the dressing room, the sales girl 'dismissed' the mother to the sale rack saying "Those are all $99 but I don't think any are in your size" then said "Oh, I hear her calling for help" as she headed for the counter - NOT the dressing room!!

She was annoyed that we wanted to see a veil and only brought us 1 to try (it was ripped) We got our own after that. We asked about a tiara to cover the veil comb, she gave us one. Only one.

While the bride got dressed to go, the sales girl let the dress rest on the dirty carpet while she chatted on her cell phone. She refused offers by the mother to hold the already-paid-for dress while turning her back and dragging the dress on the dirty carpet.

She hung the dress behind the counter by one shoulder string and the train wrist strap. She literally waved off the question "Won't those strings break?" with a flick of her wrist.

For 15 minutes she couldn't get the register to work but didn't get anyone to help her till the mother said "Just give us a plastic bag to put the dress in and let us go"

The tiara was in a box that was marked $100.00 less than it rang up at the register. (Bait and switch?)

When the bride complained about the difference, new sales girl said "Oh, it's not the right box".

I'll go back and get her name (to post here) another day but both the bride and the mother left the store unhappy with David's Bridal and will pass the word to other brides to be.

The dress is beautiful and the bride is beautiful in it, but I would and will NOT recommend David's Bridal to anyone already stressing with planning a wedding!!!

Horrible Customer Service!!!

I live in the Clear Lake Webster area so I thought this would be the perfect place to get my wedding dress but I was so wronge!!! I first went into the store in Feb. of 09 and I was so excited to pick out my dress and start planning my big wedding.. Well, all of you know that right now we are in the middle of a recesion and times are hard for alot of people.. Well these times happened to face my fiances line of work pretty badly..So we are having to put off our wedding.Anyway, I tell the manager of the store that I am going to cancel my layway. I was already upset about this enough because I was having to postpone my wedding day. She was so rude to me and EXTREAMLY UNPROFESSIONAL!! She treated me like a low life individual because I could not afford to keep my layway. I told her that I would come in the store in a few months and just purchase the dress with cash. I was already losing ten percent of my layway purchase already. Well she tells me that I can only have 75.00 mailed to me and it could take a week or two to even arrive. I was okay with that but then I realized that I was still missing another 137.00 that I needed back. She told me that I would only be able to use that money through store credit and only at there store. I was so angry that I tried to explain to her that I used my debit card which is like cash when i paid the 137.00. She proceded to tell me that it did not matter she had to go by what was on the receipt. The receipt had an error and said that I paid with store credit or a david bridal card. Well I do not even own a david bridal card.!! I was so furious and shocked that a store manager would treat me so poorly and unprofesional. So I left with the 137.00 store credt and began to realize that I could show proof from my bank that I made the purchases with my debit card which is like cash. I brought the proof of the transactions to her the next day and she refused to look at them and said she could not do anything else for me. I cannot believe she would not try to fix her own mistakes. I deserve the money back that I paid for and believe it is very unfair. So I got her corporates phone number and the customer serive number to complain.

Overall I was just really shocked and disappointed that a bridal store would treat their customers the way that they do. I would not recommend this store to anyone at all.. Please go somewhere else to get your wedding dress and plan for your great day.. I am just telling you this from my own personal experience and would never want anyone else to be treated the same way...
