Bad service. This used to be a cozy, quaint wine bar, but last Friday evening it was a zoo. We were mostly ignored and later arrivals were served. After ten minutes we asked for a particular, but well known Chilean vintage and it was obvious the waiter had no clue. We settled for a Malbec and ordered a pizza. Half hour later they admitted they gave it to another table. They did replace it free of charge, but that took another 20 minutes. Would not recommend this place now due to their very slow and bad service.

Awesome Wine Bar!. We have been to Sonoma multiple times and have always walked away saying how much we love the place. We enjoy it so much, we decided to have my Wife’s birthday party there. The reservation was made for 15 and since people would be coming and going, Sonoma recommended half of the bar so everyone could come and go as they please.

There must have been some misunderstanding because we showed up and it was very clear that the area was too small for that many people. The manager was very accommodating and provided us with a large table instead (great!). Not two minutes later, the manager came back and said they would seat us in one of their private rooms! It was amazing…had an old-wine cellar feel.

I hope we made it worth their hassle (by the end of the night, the table was covered with empty bottles). The staff is always amazing at Sonoma…very accommodating (obviously), approachable, and in no way do you ever feel rushed.

This night has guaranteed that I will forever be a customer of Sonoma…for special nights out, happy hour, or any occasion in between!!

Best Wine Bar in Houston. Where should I begin..well how about I never write reviews but felt I had to in the case of Sonoma. I was told to check this place out by many friends but never had the chance to until last week. Me and my husband went with a few friends..we walked in and the place was packed, right then a table opened up and we were greeted by a lovely young lady who sat us at our table. We were given menus and water right away which was great. The wine list was amazing..as a huge wine drinker this made me so happy, we ordered a great bottle of wine or 2 or 3....and an hour into it we were all hungry. I ordered the NY strip and my husband got the fish which was a salmon..my friends got a pizza..have to say the pizza was amazing! All of the food was great which was a surpirise. The decor was great, they had the fireplace on and the place just oozed sex and romance. I have to say Sonoma is the best wine bar in Houston and let's be honest, there are alot in this city but none on this level. We will for sure be back!

Love the Wine and Food Selection @ such a Great Price!. Even though I have to drive all the way from Sugar Land to get to my favorite Wine Bar it's worth it. For the most part I appreciate being ale to try something new on a regular basis.

The reason for me finally posting a review is simply that I just recently booked a surprise birthday party for an associate from work and was quite pleased with the outcome. To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised with the service from beginning to end. I was so happy to get the professional service and knowledge from planning the menu to the execution. The food platters and wine selections impressed everyone! I've had to book several events for others in the office, and now I'm glad to have given Sonoma a chance to earn my business!

I love that there was plenty of parking and not being forced to valet.

The beer selection was better than the usual wine bar and was greatly satisfying to the non-wine drinkers in my party.

I only wish that Sonoma would open a location in Sugar Land.

Good Times. Good List, Smart Staff (LOVE Mark!), Fair Location. Diverse seating - sidewalk style outside, clean trendy bar as well as fire-side couches inside and a private back room for parties. The prices are pretty fair - especially when you get to the higher prices wines. The bathroom could be cleaner... but otherwise I'm a big fan!

Love the Wine and Pizza. I went to meet a customer on Tuesday and stayed longer than expected! The service was a nice surprise, they bring warm roasted nuts and water before even having a chance to look at the menu. The wine selection was great, almost too many choices, and priced well! It's great to go to a wine bar that lets you taste the wine before buying it, even for by the glass! We enjoyed the Rustic Pizza with Goat cheese and Arugula then had their Baked Brie as a dessert! I only wish this place was open for lunch.

Great Customer Service, Nice Atmosphere. I went to Sonoma a couple of weeks ago on a Monday afternoon. My friends and I were the only ones there for a little while, but it quickly picked up. The service was great. The staff was very attentive. The atmosphere was nice, although they didn't have comfortable seating (big comfy couches or chairs / non-wooden chairs) for more than 2 people. Also, the wine selection was very limited. However, all in all it was a good experience and I'll definitely be back.

Best Music in River Oaks. The place is perfect. The wine selection is genius and the pizza is to die for. Best of all, the music is outstanding. Young, attractive musicians playing everything from jazz to cha-cha-cha. Call for the times. This place has it all, good luck Sonoma!!
