“wasn't there on a weekend and I bet it gets pretty busy, but they do have an outdoor deck that has a great view of the city skyline, which was nice and relaxed, and the other patrons and bartenders were friendly and easy to talk to.”
“great drinks, great bartenders, GREAT EVERYTHING!”
“It was an easy walk from my downtown hotel (though some of the patrons I talked to thought I was crazy for walking - didn't seem at all dangerous to me but then I'm from LA) and was a great place for a beer after work.”
“tony's from the outside seems like every other building in the area but once you walk inside you are met with a nice comfortable atmosphere where the bartenders actually talk to you and give great drink suggestions.”
Favorite Bar in Town!. I just discovered this bar last Friday and was completely thrown off guard. Normally, I used to the same old tired clubs in Houston and wasn't expecting much when my friends brought me here. What a shock! The music was GREAT, the dancers were smokin' hot, and the crowd wasn't pretentious or cold. My friends and I had a really, really good time. This is now - by far - my favorite bar in Houston.
Amazing Bar!!. After coming into town for business and not having any idea where to go, I googled bars in downtown, houston and found this gem! I had so much fun I decided to spend the remainder of my evenings here, including my birthday night! ALL of the bartenders were friendly, funny and hot... the entertainment was exactly that- ENTERTAINING and the locals were incredibly welcoming to this city slicker! I totally wish I could have this bar in NYC! Next time I'm in town, I'm excited to return!
Funnest bar in town. We go to Tony's at least once a week. It is our neighborhood bar. It is a great alternative to pacific street because it is low key but still lots of fun, even a bit edgy. You can actually talk to people there...not so clique-y like some bars. There is never a cover and easy parking. The drinks are great (read strong) and they serve you in a glass. There are often shows and Ms. Deveraux rocks the house. Also lots of very friendly and pretty latin guys bareing it all in amateur strip shows. There is a great patio with an awesome view of downtown and the bartenders are top-notch. Larry is hot and very sweet.
Great drinkin bar close to downtown. This was a find - I was in Houston for business and came across Tony's after a web search. It was an easy walk from my downtown hotel (though some of the patrons I talked to thought I was crazy for walking - didn't seem at all dangerous to me but then I'm from LA) and was a great place for a beer after work. I didn't go to the bars over in Montrose - why when you have this place? - and I was back two nights that week. I wasn't there on a weekend and I bet it gets pretty busy, but they do have an outdoor deck that has a great view of the city skyline, which was nice and relaxed, and the other patrons and bartenders were friendly and easy to talk to. I have Houston as part of my territory now, and I will definitely be back. the only reason it didn't get five stars is because of the smoke, but I could have gone outside - more fun to hang out and talk with the patrons. Cheap drinks, good atmosphere, nice place!
great drinks, great bartenders, GREAT EVERYTHING!!!. this place is great!!! from the friendly bartenders to the cozy decor, this place is top notch. located away from the busy montrose gay scene this place is a nice change from the obnoxious south beach and sad south beach impersonators. tony's from the outside seems like every other building in the area but once you walk inside you are met with a nice comfortable atmosphere where the bartenders actually talk to you and give great drink suggestions. when you stop by make sure you talk to larry the bartender... he makes insanely good adult beverages, and he is good on the eyes! also make sure to catch a show here... they are always entertaining and are usually accompanied by cute male dancers. so if your looking for a nice place to drop in for a little alcohol refreshment i suggest moving away from all the clones on pacific street and head on down to w. dallas where tony is waiting to serve YOU!!!
Near-downtown bar for billiards, cheap happy hour and beefcakes baring it all for stripper supremacy..
In Short
The weekend starts on Thursday with "Booze & Cruise Night" featuring drink deals and DJ Ross, but "hot spot" takes on a new meaning when sexy, muscle men take to the stage for the amateur strip contests held Thursday through Saturday. When the mob scene on the dance floor gets too much, get in on a game of pool or check out the two-story patio for a more relaxed vibe and some juicy burgers cooked fresh.
