“If you like a club atmosphere with radio music instead of whatever annoying noise they have playing elsewhere downtown then you would like it here.”
“Waiting in line for an expensive drink is worth not mixing with the proletariat underbelly.”
“The drinks were tasty (and certainly strong), the vibe was intense and the men.”
“Yeah the music isnt the best but its a great place to hang out and have a few drinks.”
“love this place, I love dancing on the platforms, I love the staff , this place is awesome.”
“although I must say that it is worth the wait, but to remain in good spirts (aka not having to watch the "tough guys" at the door pick and choose entrants) try and get there early to avoid crowds (before 10:30).”
This place is Great. Here's the thing. The people that are putting down this place obviously didnt know what they were getting themselves into when they went. There are very few places that I have ever been to that will play SoD and Slipknot all night. I love this place, I love dancing on the platforms, I love the staff , this place is awesome. If you are looking for a place where you can wear whatever you want, dance to rock music, and watch the bartender spit fire while girls swing above his head, this is the place for you. If you are over the age of 30 and cant handle the rock life, dont bother.
Treat customers like shit. This is a nice space BUT the management and people who work there are not professional. I have been with a large group at least twice, spent well over $1000 on bottles and shots, and had a girl in our group get molested by two customers this last time. Even more appalling is that we were the ones that got told to leave. I pleaded to file a complaint with the manager and got nowhere. I was led to believe that I was waiting for the manager outside the front doors with the bouncer for over 20 minutes, and no one showed up. I even asked for a number to call in the morning, but the door guys claimed not to know it. The main problem I have, other than having a friend get molested and being physically abused by a 300 lb. bouncer, is that we were paying customers, paid for their salary/tips/etc that night, and were treated with extreme disrespect. Apparently the bouncer had a personal relationship with the perverts that night. Regardless of why things happened the way they did, it was extremely disappointing to be treated like that by the club after giving it so much business. Needless to say, we, and everyone we know or come across, will not be giving this place business again until the name is changed and management has been taken over by someone with half a brain. It's a shame.
Don't Bother!. Although it seemed to be a pretty slow night for them it was still impossible to get the snotty bartenders attention. I won't be going back and dont recommend it. And if you care... the bathrooms are disgusting!
Pretty good for No Cover. Yeah the music isnt the best but its a great place to hang out and have a few drinks. No Cover but get there early cause the line can get pretty long. You will see people in business suits to tight jeans with chucks..very diverse....i didnt like the drink the bartender made and the waitress changed it with no problems! the view from the patio is amazing but it gets pretty crowded. i would recommend this place if your near by and just want to hang out.
GO!!!. Rocbar was exactly what I wanted it to be! i won't exhaust you with a long, wordy description of the club...I'll just say YOU NEED TO GO TO ROCBAR!!!!
Best Houston Club. So, in reading these other reviews, I see that people knock the music. These people are obviously uneducated in music. The Ramones didn't become a classic band b/c they aren't good! And, yes, some of the music can be heard on the radio...but again, it is played b/c people like it! Some of the songs played were mash-ups, or indie bands that I'm sure the other review writers didn't even notice b/c they were too busy making sure their Affliction shirt was tight enough. If you love music, and love to be at a place were you can party, then you would love Rocbar! I went a few weeks ago on a Friday. They were doing this party with a military theme. The staff all dressed the part. The waitresses (who are hot as hell btw) were dancing on the bars. the bartenders were great. One girl even gave me a business card so I could call and get put on a guest list so there wouldn't be a wait in the line. Bottom line, get to Rocbar if you haven't yet!
WOOOO HOOOOO, FUN!. All i gotta say is that we had the best time ever!!!!!!!!! Yes, it was crowded, but it was crowded with gorgeous people, great drinks and music!!!!!!!! will be back
Want to go back for more. Went on a thursday night for my girlfriend's birthday. We first went to the mosiac which is connected to the rocbar. Mosaic is a nice techno playing lounge with a kickass patio view of downtown. Afterwards we went over to the rb where they had a live band of 5 black dudes who really rocked. We didnt stay for long, but we'll definitely go again.
The ONLY place to be is ROCBAR.
Rocbar is the ONLY place I go to in Houston! The DJ is great, the bartenders are the best and the club is awesome! Every time I go I get treated like a million bucks because everyone who works there is real cool. No cover, no dresscode... Rocbar is the place to be!!

Even Better Than I Expected!. I recently moved here from Los Angeles and did a little research to find a new spot that could meet LA standards. Rocbar is it! I was a little hesitant at first after reading the review below, but I could not have been more surprised. I brought a couple of my new co-workers up there with me and we had a fabulous time! I had heard of a few other places around town, but all they play is house. Rocbar was a nice change. It's a pulchritudinous club with an impressive size to match. The drinks were tasty (and certainly strong), the vibe was intense and the men...well, let me say that I am more than impressed with you Houstonians. I chatted with the DJ a bit and told him I loved his very animated rock out sessions, and thanked him for playing a few of my requests. I rocked out all night to a little hardcore, a bit of punk and some satisfactory old school rock-n-roll. I will definitely be back next weekend. I have found a little bit of LA in my home away from home. This place is Brilliant!
