Missed The Mark At Lunch. Not a good day for the Buffalo Speedway establishment!

Went in for a lunch and my co-workers where seated fifteen minutes after my party were well into their lunch when ours was no where to be found. Our waiter didn't have a clue. When I complained, he replied, "Would you like to speak to the manager?" Well, what do YOU think?" This young man was inattentive at best. I think he either forgot to turn in the order or just didn't care when it came out. I was prepared to pay full price, but the manager took 50% off. I would pay the entire check; I want above-average service (espcecially during lunch!) more than a discount. Not a good day; 50/50 as to whether I will be back.

So-So. Went there for lunch today. Very casual, over priced, with so-so service. While the manager was very attentive, I had to ask our waitress for napkins and never received any silverware. I ordered the crab-cake sandwich. It was o.k. Nothing to write home about. The waffle fries were yummy.

Everyone was real friendly and the food came out real quick. With all that said, I ended up paying $15 for a thin crab cake sandwich, fries and a coke...I don't think I'll return.

Great food, great staff.. Read the other couple reveiws and thought why not give it a try. We were seated promptly and the entire place had a certain well designed feel to it. Took a look at the specials board and kinda knew it was going to be good. Waiter was curteous and we got samples of the oyster nachos. They were tasty. Not going to go into details on exactly what my wife and I ordered but we were very pleased. There are many things on the menu that we are excited to come back and try. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of what you get considering some of the other seafood restaurants down the street. A+

Best Restaurant Experience in Years. This place is a must for anyone who has given up on great service and food at an affordable restaurant. You still can find both in Houston at Fish City in the Upper Kirby District. Fish City offers friendly service from the moment you walk in and finishes with promptly returned change after paying. No waiting for centuries for your receipt to come.

Our waitress, named after Texas city that will not be mentioned, offered us free samples of appetisers and soups. Free samples before we even ordered anything!! With no pressure! She also let us know that unlike most places around town, they will gladly make any substitutions as you find necessary - without charging you an arm and a leg. The samples were awesome. Oyster nachos are wonderful for anyone craving something a little different and a little spicy and the gumbo is tasty without being overwhelming.

I ordered a combo meal, made my guilt free substitutions, and was very satisfied. The portions are ample but not ridiculous, the food is hot and fresh off the line, and everything came to our table within 10 minutes of ordering. My partner ordered a Salmon salad and we were both impressed with the size of the salmon filet. Unlike several other places wherer they give you a spoonful of salmon, Fish City does not scrimp the fish.

Staff were helpful without being nagging. Management is friendly to both patrons and staff. Nothing is more distasteful than a rude manager barking orders and interrupting you mid sentence to ask how you are doing. There was none of that. In fact, she was helpful. We sat outside and unlike eating outside downtown, Fish City is located in a shopping area away from the street so there is no worry about solicitations. We enjoyed an interruption free meal with a good amount of people watching - not avoiding.

Next to Fish City is an awesome gelatto store to satisfy your sweet tooth. I am definately returning soon in the future. In fact, I think I'll soon be a regular.

High Quality Food/Top Notch Service. This place is a great overall restaurant. The food is very good, and the service tends to be outstanding (though, admittedly, most restaurants in Houston have great service anyway).

Some dishes to try are the fried pickles, fish tacos (I'm not a huge fan but everyone else I know loves them), crab/shrimp plate, and the key lime pie.

Casual local seafood chain popular for shrimp, oysters and catfish, plus a few land options.. In Short
Started by the same folks who created Half Shells and Rockfish in Dallas, this casual chain delivers a similar menu. Brick walls, maritime art on the walls and booths and seats all add to the laid-back ambience. The seafood-ominated menu does have non-seafood options. Oysters in the half shell are among the popular appetizers. Cajun-influenced entrees include the crab leg platter. Salads, sandwiches and po'boys are also available.
