In Short – Tucked into a freeway-adjacent strip mall, Mark Valentino's family-owned restaurant fills a niche for authentic Gulf Coast seafood in an upscale casual setting. The menu includes notable items like the cracker-crusted fried shrimp, raw and char-grilled smoked oysters, fried seafood platter, Asian-inspired coleslaw and oft-ordered crab cakes with visible chunks of solid lump crab meat. Burgers, po'boys, sandwiches and steaks round out the offerings while lunch features soup, sandwich and salad combos.

My husband and I ate here last night and were unimpressed at best. There was only a handful of people there (1st clue ignored in error). We tried this place b/c they are in the entertainment book (expiring Nov. 1 for BOGO up to $15.95). The waiter told us that the owner had not agreed to be in the book (which sounded like cr@p to me) but would discount $7.00 toward the meal as a “courtesy”. We should have left right then. The food when it finally arrived was substandard. My stuffed flounder was overcooked as were my husband’s steak and shrimp. The rice was OK and the veggies were very good. I cannot recommend this place- they aren’t cheap and in the Clear Lake area there are so many excellent choices that are a much better value. We gave the waiter who was very nice a generous pity tip as he can’t be making much money working for such a bad restaurant.
- Pros: Good Veggies
- Cons: Overpriced overcooked over-rated
Food and Entertainment are amazing!!!

This place offered my wife and I seafood in the Baybrook mall area. Something that is not readily available to the mall. I thought...ok...red lobster isn't sooo bad. How much worse can this be?
Walked in, sat down and my mouth was in for a surprise. This is not your run of the mill seafood restaurant.
If you don't get the crabcakes, you will be sorry. I can't imagine what they tasted like before. This place has redefined crabcakes and has made me a new returning customer just by those alone.
The shrimp salad was so incredible. I am in awe of this food.
The seafood - FRESH. I mean...did they just catch this? I don't know, but man alive, THIS is what seafood is supposed to taste like. If you think Red Lobster is good, you ain't seen nothing yet. This place has a nice look and feel and the food is just one of utter delight. There were couples here on dates and a family or two as well. The owner stopped by to many of them(that I could see) including us. i gather he is Mr. Valentino, though my mind was on the food so much, I can't remember. Waitstaff was smiling and so accomodating. Are the prices for real? You get this kind of service and pay so little.
But that's not all - they got this guy who sings on Friday nights (apparantly only Fridays). Think the waiter said his name is Mike. That voice made my wife swoon. She was tired from all that shopping, but she came to life after hearing him. We ordered wine from their great selection and stayed just to keep listening. He seemed to favor older songs from the 50's through the 70's. Let's just say, we had a night to remember. Than you Mike!
And Thank you Valentino's for moving to the Baybrook area. You've got a lifetime customer in me.
Keep up the good work!
- Pros: Delicious FRESH seafood + great music = Triumph
- Cons: None on my visit
Tired of chains

My wife and I have been going to this restaurant for more than two years and love this place. We found it in a strip center in Webster but since they have moved to Bay Area blvd. It is much larger place and better location. They we voted one of the top ten new restaurant last year and have some great food. My wife and I are tired of the chains and love to support local owner that give to the community they live in. We have met the owner many times. They treat us great every time we come in. We have tried lots of thing they have but as some people no there crab cake are just the best but what you have to try is there great fried shrimp. What can I say but there just the best we have ever had. The oyster are to die for in the winter. We hope that they make it in there new location as we no with the recession like it is thing are tight but my family wishes the Valentino's all the best.
- Pros: Best Crab cakes
- Cons: none
