Don't waste your time!. This place is way too small for the crowd it draws. We arrived about 10pm on a Saturday night and by 11pm you couldn't even move. The bar staff, while diligent, is just overmatched with all the people. The door men are rude, and the valet is expensive. It's just a matter of time before this place gets a visit from the Fire Marshall with only one true public exit in a bar that the door men let get way too crowded.
Great music, fun crowd!!. I had a blast at whiskey creek!! They played a great varity of music, and although it was completely packed, pretty much everyone was friendly. They door guys were not stuck up, there werent insane lines, the bar was insanely crowded so it did take awhile to get a drink, but thats with anywhere in midtown. I recommend trying it out.
Country with a cool new twist.. Wonderful, even if you don't like country! Really neat concept and decor with a good mixture of music you can move to. Not your run-of-the-mill pretentious club in Midtown. This place is actually fun and the bartenders are friendly! A+ you have to try it at least once, even if you're like me, and you don't listen to any country music at all.
Not a real country bar. This place is alright, but it's hardly a country bar if that's what you are looking for. They play Nashvilley country music and generic hip-hop and the dance floor is really small. The good thing about it is that the crowd is up there with Red Door as one of the most tolerable in Midtown. Drinks are about averaged-priced for the area, but expensive for a country bar and service was pretty good. It also seemed enhanced because Escobar is so bad so keep that in mind if you are thinking about going.
HAPPNIN PLACE. THIS IS A CLUB THAT DOESN'T GET STARTED UNTIL 10:30P. ON THURDAY IT IS QUIET, FRIDAY THERE ARE LINES AND SATURDAY, WELL, IF LIKE IT CLOSE AND PERSONAL... THE CROWD IS YOUNG: 20'S TO EARLY 30'S. THERE IS A GOOD MIX OF MEN AND WOMEN. EVERONE IS FRIENDLY, AND SEENS TO HAVE HAD A COUPLE OF DRINKS UNDER THEIR BELT. MUSIC IS COUNTRY INTERMIXED WITH ROCK AND ROLL ON A SMALL DANCE FLOOR. IF YOU ARE A SERIOUS C&W DANCER, THIS MIGHT NOT BE YOUR PLACE. DRINKS ARE AVERAGE STRENGTH. BARTENDERS ATTENTIVE AND COURTEOUS. WHEN THE CLUB STARTS FILLING UP, YOU MIGHT NEED TO HAVE A GIRL WITH YOU TO GO TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE. DRESS IS THE TYPICAL MIDTOWN DRESS WITH THE OCCASIONAL HAT. I REALLY ENJOYED THE "ENERGY" OF THIS CLUB. TRY IT ON FRIDAY.**
Nice Place, and good Country. Visited the Wisky Creek on the last night of a business trip in Nov 06. Good music, It's hard to find a good Country bar in the midwest where I'm from. The staff was nice, the drinks were good but expensive. Seemed like a locals place, and not really a "young crowd" type of bar. I liked it and would recommend it.
Upscale and urban country and western bar for some live music and boot scootin' in Midtown..
In Short
Expect a Midtown-type crowd of sexy singles in designer jeans (and the occasional black hat) at this country-themed dance club. Saloon stylings and cowboy-friendly decor (while decidedly less gritty than some Houston-area honky tonks) adds to the Old West theme while ice cold beer and top-shelf cocktails fuel the rowdy crowd. An in-house DJ makes sure the dance floor is perennially packed. Frequent events like dueling pianos and live bands keeps things exciting.
Good Addition to Midtown. If they can keep the crowd to late 20s, 30s, and early 40s, this place will do okay. The bartenders are personable and attentive. Music is country and rock. Drinks are good, even if a bit over-priced. Lots of space in this place, but it gets crowded quickly. Once they reach capacity, you cannot get in because fire marshals are on patrol. And it doesn't matter who you know; you're not getting in!
Best decor. What a great addition to the midtown area. Good looking crowd and great staff. My friends and I had a blast and will be back weekly.
