Editorial Review for Cyclone Anaya Midtown – by Andrea Loera

In Short
Known as one of the more tasteful Tex-Mex restaurants in the city, Cyclone Anaya's brings its mix of margarita-fueled fun and upscale casual dining to Midtown. Diners settle into ample banquettes for big, bold margaritas; chunky, fresh-made guacamole; and flavorful seviche. Entrees include surprises like lobster enchiladas, but Tex-Mex standards like carne asada, tamales, fajitas, enchiladas and hearty combo plates are crowd favorites. The ample bar area is a popular spot for the after-work happy hour set.

The food at this place is great! BUT the service is pretty bad. hence, the hostess up top who wrote a review defending the ineptness. Our wait time was long but hey that's to be expected, not a problem. Our waiter was nice enough but when our bill came he informed us that he could not split the check. There were at least 10 of us and we all had cards, so you see our problem. Then he said he could split it up himself and whoa that was completely scary in its self. Needless to say our bill was all kinds of messed up. i ended up paying about $60 more than my share cause of his lack of skills and everyone had already left. hello i too work in a restaurant and know you can split the bill. If i was that manger that guy would have been fired. i've talked to a few people who also had the same problem.

Pros: good food, margaritas

Cons: staff that is not too into customer service
