Happy hour is a bargain @ $3 but the. Happy hour is a bargain with $3 plates, and the tiny strip mall restaurant gets really busy, but patrons don't really seem to mind the wait because the deal is worth it.
Been there a few times and found it by
accident. It was definitely a pleasant surprise! It has a real nice atmosphere and pleasant surroundings and great service!
Took my friends and and my 94 year old mother and she enjoyed it!
Was there this week from out of town and took some of the Canja Soup for my Mama!
Would recommend it to anyone!
Still best kept secret in Houston.
Wow!!! Let me tell you about Oporto. This is mine and my partners favorite place - PERIOD!!! Everytime I take someone there, they love it and keep going back. My three favorites things to eat there are (in my opinion):
#3. Turkey & Goat Cheese Panini - You don't know until you put it in you MOUTH!
#2. Goat Cheese - The nuts, the sauce, the cheese on garlic bread - "I'm in Heaven..."
and the best kept secret in Houston is...
#1 The Piquillo Pepper Relleno - No is not a Mexican dish, it is .... Just go and try it. Secret - MAKE RESERVATIONS !!!!
Wine bar with taste pretense.
Went for lunch and dinner this week. Lunch we watched world cup action and ate an awesome panini with bacon, brie, and avocado. creamy, salty, and toasty.
At night we grazed over several tapas and cheese plates, as well as an awesome gazpacho soup...
highly recommended
Hidden Gem!. This place is a hidden gem! They have great happy hour specials (Panini and Martini Monday is the best) and I have never been disappointed with the food. I have been going to this place for a few years and would definately recommend Oporto for happy hour or an after dinner drink!
A surprising disappointment. I won't comment on the food as I cannot endorse doing business with a dishonorable merchant. They sold us a coupon through a well known online restaraunt coupon provider and then failed to honor it. The coupon was still valid and we met all the obligations. But, AFTER we finished our meal, they informed us they chose to not honor their obligations and that we should seek a refund from the coupon provider.
Amazing drinks and tapas.. Well Oporto....such a great place. I've been going there quite often and there's yet to be a time where anything is subpar. The tapas are amazing! (Tapas: Popular throughout Spain in bars and restaurants, tapas are appetizers that usually accompany SHERRY or other APÉRITIFS or COCKTAILS) I usually get the panini...prosciuto? something like that lol its amazing...PLEASE get it. and the bacon salmon things too. I've had like 5 different drinks there and they've all been really good. Chances are the owner is going to be out on the floor waiting and serving you, it's great when people do that shows that they really care about their customers. Overall a great place to go have some drinks and munch on some great food.
weekend visit? - think twice!!!. This is my 5th time in this excellent tapas restaurant. All the previos visits were weekday evenings and we always left with great taste and excellent treatment. My last visit, however, was very different. We went there for their unique mussles dish, few more excellent tapas, and glass or two Pinot Noir (we ended for two each since it was a very good one). Since we had to leave in less than two hours, we were not taking so long anyway. However, they were rushing us out so hard with asking if we like our leftover boxed as soon as we slow down on our only few tapas dishes, they brought our bill with our second glass of wine order -before we even ask for it, and finally one of the owner/manager indicated to new customers our table ın front of us to make them wait. I literally finished up the wine that I was greatly enjoying by standing up and getting ready to leave under great pressure. If I ever go back again, it will never be any weekend evenings. So sorry for a great restaurant.
Wonderful. Great date spot! The food was excellent! I fell in love with crab and avacado crostini. The crab was fresh and the presentation on all the dishes were inviting. They had a well developed wine list with great prices. We had a grenache and syrah blend that was heaven and very reasonably priced! The entire waitstaff catered to us and we never had to really wait for anything. I highly recommend it!
Extraordinary!!.
Had a great time at this boutique wine and tapas bar. Service was attentive, and the place was real cozy. I wil recommend to anyone looking for a piece f NYC in Houston.
