In need of new management. The food was delicious when it finally came out, waited 30 minutes for food and it was just me and my 2 daughters. The waitress only brought us a total of 4 breadsticks the whole dinner until the end of dinner when we had almost finished our food (we kept asking and still no breadsticks) She also didn't bring us our salad until she brought our food, didnt refill my daughters soup, didn't refill my tea even though I asked her and another person, so I only had one glass of tea with my dinner! (same with my daughters sodas) This was a horrible dining experience to say the least! I would say this was a fluke but the previous time I went to this Pearland Olive Garden they didn't want to bring us breadsticks or tea but I just thought it was a fluke. After discussing this with friends I soon found out that the breadsticks and salad issue was the same for them. This location is for some reason stingy with breadsticks and salad, which is part of the allure for this restaurant. Other locations in Houston area were fantastic so I'm guessing it's a management issue, the wait staff is either following instructions or just bad waitstaff and management doesn't care.
Can you say YUM?. I normally don't like chain food restaurant but I love Olive Garden. Who doesn't love freshly grated Parmesan cheese on a unlimited salad and free hot bread sticks? I love all of their desserts. My favorite is the lemon cream cake. I bought this for my brother's birthday party, and everyone loved it.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE ON MY ANNIVERSARY! DON'T GO HERE.. It was Sunday evening and my wife and I decided to go out with my children on our Anniversary. This was the only restaurant open in the entire neighboorhood and we were about to head home when we saw the open sign on this restaurant. We were exited and took the next exit from Hwy 288 (about a mile down) made a U turn and came to the restaurant. I decided to go in myself just to make sure that it was not a problem if we came in (It was 09:25 pm and they close at 10:00 pm). I went inside and met a staff member (Brandon) and asked him if it was ok for us to come in. He did not reply. Infact he looked at me as if he did not want us to come in. I did not realise that and thought that he must not have heard me. I asked him again and this time he rolled his eyes around and uttered "Um" twice. I thought that was ok and left. However, when I was walking back to my car I thought that I should at least bring it to the Manager's notice and walked back in. It was Brandon again that confronted me and I informed him that I wanted to talk to the GM (Melissa Taylor). He was a little nervous and commented that he never said 'no' to me coming in. I insisted. He finally went inside and no one came out for the next 10 minutes. I finally had to ask for the GM again and this time she came out to meet me. Before I could say something, she said that it had been a long day and that the staff was tired. I was shocked that she was favoring her disrespectful staff member over her guest. She further mentioned that they were closing and hence the attitude. I wasn't planning to eat there; however, I told her that Olive Garden Corporate will learn about this. She mellowed down and said that it was a mistake and that she would like for us to come in and eat. I was not doing that and left. Disgustful. I am going to write to Corporate and inform them about this.
Traditional dishes and all -you-can-eat salad, soup and bread sticks are the draw at this upscale-casual Italian restaurant..
In Short
Established in 1982, this chain gained a following for its laid-back atmosphere and generous portions. Patrons settle into comfortable booths and tables in dining rooms with plants, artwork and décor reminiscient of the villas in the Tuscan countryside. Starters include scampi, sausage or pepperoni pizza, and several soup choices, as well as a signature seafood dip (crab, shrimp, cheese and marinara). Entrees include classics like lasagna, fettuccine Alfredo and chicken parmigiana. There are also "Garden Fare" options, which promise 30 percent fewer calories.
