Rip Off. isnt it strange how the ratings are either 1 or 5. This is not by accident. The positve reviews make the dealer sound like jesus and the bad ones the antichrist. So with 87 BBB complaints this year alone speaks volumes. So the sales pitch is wait wait wait the then jam you into a car. I read reviews from the managers saying how many cars they sell etc and thats why customer service is so slow in every aspect. Well hire more people. I know that i wont wait 1 hour with scheduled appointment to give them 10 20 grand for a lemon. Bottom line is they dont stand behind there sales or product sold period. You get what you pay for. So if you want to jam them up create a fake ebay account and bid on there cars, winning bid, and dont pay.
Do not waste your time.
So I was interested in a BMW and they happened to have the model I was looking for. I went on a saturday and they were packed with customers. You have to approach the receptionist and let her know which vehicle you are interested in and she pages an available salesman, perhaps designated for that particular vehicle.
I met the salesman after 20 mins wait and he seemed polite. After we sat down he gives me a very low-level sales pitch making it clear that they are NOT a car dealership, they are wholesalers, therefore, the price is NOT negotiable. He then proceeds to another vehicle which is not the one I'm interested in and asks me how much do I think that car costs? Based on your answer he then goes to elaborate on how they are the largest eBay car seller in the WORLD. After all this nonsense, he took me outside to look for the car I was interested in. We find the car and I ask him a very basic question about how much is left on the warranty of the vehicle. He doesn't know and he asks a 'senior' salesman, who tells him that they don't have that information and that I would have to take the VIN number and check it myself. Ok, fair enough, I ask them if they provide extended warranty on their vehicles and he said "we're not a car dealer, we are wholesaler"... at this point I'm ready to give up on the car.
To finalize his sales pitch, he tells me that the car is brought in as is and that no cosmetic touches or mechanical fixes have been performed on the car. You choose the car, you pay for it, you point out what needs to be fixed and they'll fix it for you (presumably). They have a 3 month/3000 mile warranty on all vehicles... good luck on spotting all the defects of a used vehicle. You then need to bring it back and convince them that none of those defects happened to you so they will fix them.
Service was mediocre at best so expect to meet some very cocky managers if you have any issues. I did see a couple arguing with a manager on my way out. If you want to save $1-3k on a car, be ready for some headache. They are known for refurbishing flooded and totaled vehicles.
By the way, the 5-star reviews were written by their own PR people, so don't fall for them. This is a place that will go out of business just as fast as they've grown thus far.
OK business. Bought a car from them, they have a lot of consumers, so it will be a challenge for you to feel appreciated
Great Place to do Business. I had read some reviews about these guys and unfortunately there is some bad ones out there. But I realized these guys sell over 1000 cars a month, they are going to have some unreasonable customers. So I proceeded with caution and found the process a little time consuming but WELL worth it! I saved over $4000 on my purchase. The BMW dealer in Clear Lake had the same car for $4200 more. Thats right the same car! I don't know about you but it was worth the 2 hours to save $4000. I definitely would recommend Texas Direct Auto if you are serious about saving money. Not the nicest looking facility but who cares when you save that kind of money. I will buy again from these guys!
They post fake pictures.. Thankfully, I live in Katy, TX so Stafford, Tx isn't too far away for me. It is about 45 minutes to an hour considering traffic. I found a vehicle that I liked on the website, called and made the appointment to come in (like the website says you must do in order to be helped because they are such a big time selling dealership.) When I got there, I was a little worried. The place is covered with cars and looked almost like a junk yard. I went in and signed in and it took them a while to get to me (even though I had an appointment) and even longer to pull up my vehicle that I was there to pick up. When the car showed up it was the wrong one, so the sales guy took me in the back to look for the car I was there for and told me that the windshield was cracked during a test drive. I don't believe any one test drove this vehicle EVER. The car was trashed out. Along with the windshield being cracked (majorly cracked, which is illegal in Harris County to drive a car with a cracked windshield) the driver side door handle was hanging off, the inside was discusting, the trim around the moon roof was coming off, the back bumper was broken and scratched and there was a dent on the hood. All of these flaws didn't show up on the wonderful pictures I saw on the internet!! All of that lead me to believe that they are posting pictures from other cars on their website. On top of all of that, they couldn't find the key to this car and had to send out to get another one cut. Over all my experience was not a good one. I was very disappointed that I went there and wasted my time. Right now, I'm just glad that I was too much of a cheapo to pay the $500 to "hold" the car and decided to take my chance when I got down there. Needless to say, I left with no car and they told me that they were going to fix all the problems, but I don't think I'll be coming back.
This is the best auto buying experience I have had in 48 years!. I am not the type of person that normally writes reviews when something goes right because I expect good service, but I feel compelled to do so in this case. I purchased a 5 year old BMW from Texas Direct Auto in Missouri City, Tx (although they say they sell vehicles all over the world) and I must say that I have NEVER been more pleased with a vehicle purchase in my 48 years. My wife and I flew in from California after paying our deposit over the phone to Robert, our salesman, and we were picked up (for no charge!) at the airport by a Texas Direct Auto shuttle. That in itself was very impresive! When we arrived at the dealership we met Robert who was an absolute delight to work with (no car salesman pressure and games) and very friendly. He let us take our car for a ride and I HAVE TO SAY, THIS CAR IS MUCH, MUCH NICER THAN WE EXPECTED EVEN THOUGH ROBERT TOLD US HOW NICE IT WAS OVER THE PHONE!! The entire process took us a few hours because of the way this place is set up. There were probably 25 to 35 people there picking up their purchase while we were there so we had to wait a bit in the lobby but that was no problem for us (they even gave us freshly made choclate chip cookies while we waited!) I will reccomend this place to everyone that says they are looking for a vehicle! I personally feel that I saved over 5k on my purchase and I had a great trip doing it!! Thank you to Robert in Sales and Frank in the Finance office. You guys have a CUSTOMER FOR LIFE!.
Not recommended..
I purchased a truck there about 1 1/2 months ago. I saw the truck on ebay, but purchased it over the phone. The tires were listed at 50% tread. I flew in from 5 hours away. The tires had about 20% remaining and starting to weather check. When I drove it the Passenger Air Bag warning came across the dash and I noticed the speedometer said 100 when I was doing 80 according to my GPS (a problem that may be caused by the bigger tires). I got back to the dealership, I spoke with the manager, Ed. Ed told me that he would give me $300.00 back on the tires which cost $1500.00 to replace. He also stated that no one noticed the airbag warning light and that it must have come on while I was driving it and that it could not have been on before I touched the truck. Ed then proceeded to tell me that he couldn't sell me the truck in this condition and that he wouldn't sell me another car as they were about to close in 10 minutes. I then told Ed he would need to pay my way home, $300.00 plane tickets, and reimburse me for my ride there ,$300.00 as the truck was not what he described. He refused to do so and then told me that he would not stand there while I "yelled" at him. I was not being rude with him at all and felt as though was trapping me there as I was 5 hours from home with no ride. In desperation, I asked Ed to take $600.00 off the final price and we would call it a deal. He agreed and I purchased the truck. I have found other problems/cover ups with the truck, one problem is that this non-smoker truck has had the front driver seat repaired for cigarette burns and cinges (this may have not been done by them and they may have had no idea it was done). In the end, the truck had automatic fold down side steps that cost $1500.00, and this was not listed on the auction so I consider it a freebee that, in a way evens things out. Ed is a horrible GM.
Summary - Great price, not worth the hassle.
I WISH ALL CAR DEALERS COULD BE LIKE THIS! 5 STARS FOR TEXAS DIRECT!. I just bought my 2008 Suburban from Texas Direct Auto in Missouri City, Texas and I could not be happier. I have purchased 17 vehicles in my lifetime and my biggest regret is that I did not know about these guys sooner! This is without a doubt the best place in the Country to buy a vehicle! Yeah, the parking lot is packed, and Yeah they are extremely busy, but that is A-OK with me. I will be happy to give up the fancy high pressure car dealerships with coffee bars and overpriced cars in order to save the $5,000.00 that I saved with Texas Direct Auto and I was treated with nothing less than the utmost respect and my Suburban was simply PRISTINE!! I will definately buy my next car from these guys and have already sent several friends and co-workers there (2 have already bought from them and said they loved it!) KUDOS TO TEXAS DIRECT AUTO!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!
Worst Dealership experience EVER. HORRIBLE! Unprofessional! They sell cheap cars but you end up paying out of pocket immediately. My car was mislead it had scrapes and dings all over and even had mechanical work required immediately. They forced me to leave good feedback on ebay in order for them to refund some of the money due to the excess money involved to get the vehicle to the condition as stated on the auction. Its been a month and a half of headaches. NOW I just discovered my title paperwork hasnt even been filed and it was a local sale! Business is run horribly and only has kids working in all departments -be prepared to wait an hour for your vehicle if you pick it up if not longer.
