Best Chicken Fried Chicken in town!. Going to Live Oak Grill is like going over to someone's summer farmhouse for dinner. Framed by a large live oak tree with wooden tables for al freso dining, the main restaurant building looks like a large family home. There's a jukebox in the corner and a bucket of beer near the cash register. You walk up to the counter and place your order and pick it up when the buzzer goes off. We always order the chicken fried chicken, fried to crispy perfection and topped with a creamy gravy, which comes with your choice of two sides. I get the corn and mac n cheese. My husband likes the green beans and mashed potatoes. This is comfort food at its best - So much better than the upscale Ousie's table in River oaks (where chicken fried chicken is ~$28), and for 1/3 of the price! They also have burgers, pork chops, salmon, salads, and a wonderful banana pudding - but stick with either the chicken fried steak or chicken fried chicken, and you won't ever go wrong.

Wonderful food!. We chose Live Oak Grill tonight after our first restaurant choice had a 1 hr wait. The parking lot was full so we anticipated a long line to order. Not!! The restaurant was full but still empty tables to choose from along with outside dining. We were the next in line to order when we walked in. The food was delicious! I had the special - salmon salad. Best salmon I have ever had. Juicy and tasty and mild smoky flavor - Scrumptious! My husband had the chicken fried steak - delicious! The mashed potatoes and the garlic cole slaw - YUUMMMMY!! We were so glad we opted Live Oak Grill!! Don't let the simple down home feel fool you - the food is delicious!

Great Local Restaurant. I enjoy eating here, they have daily specials, great hamburgers and a variety of other foods. Ice cold beer and a good ole juke box to listen to. It's a bit off the beaten path, but once you find it, you will be back. Owners are very friendly and ready to serve their guests.

Kid-friendly burger place in Sugar Land under the shade of towering live oaks.. Inside the ranch-style restaurant, expect a relaxed, down home atmosphere and a menu dominated by Southern classics. Order at the counter and pull an icy Lone Star from the cooler before finding a table. Favorites include Angus burgers with crisp-coated fries (or swap fries for some old-fashioned crunchy onion rings), chicken fried steak, grilled or fried shrimp, mesquite grilled pork chops and other barbecue options including ribs and brisket. Opt for a table outside under century old oaks so the kids can enjoy the spacious playground area. Top off your classic Texas meal with some homemade banana pudding or pecan pie.

Excellent Burgers!. I've been there maybe 7 or so times. Service can be a little slow, but it is deffinatly worth the wait! It has a nice homie feel... nothing fancy. But great comfort food. My favorite is the mushroom swiss burger with a side of honey-mustard for the fries.

It's not very busy, and even when it is busy, there is hardly a wait at all.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
