SCAMMER - BAD BAD BAD SERVICE, PLANCE AND PEOPLE - STAY AS FAR AS YOU CAN. Do not ever go to the 6650 Hoover (290 Bingle) Scratch N Dent place to purchase appliance. This place is total awful. I have purchased a product from this place for my rental house. First, they told me something but delivered another low cost product, secondly, they sent me a product not in a working condition. Right after the tech person left, I called asked for them to fix it. They said I have to pay additional service fee for them to fix it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I HAVE TO PAY SERVICE FEE FOR SOMETHING THEY SHOULD DO IN THE FIRST PLACE? Last, when I talk to the OWNER - ROY to change the product or waive the service fee for the mistake and problem they caused, at first, the OWNER refused to talk to me and asked a tech person to talk to me. After I insisted on talking to ROY several time, the OWNER - ROY finally picked up the phone and talked to me in person, but he is really rude and said I don't understand the situation, what is done is done. He kept on referring to the contract which as per description - customer requires to pay the fee every time tech person come over. DID CONTRACT SAY THE SHOP SHOULD PAY OR FIX THE PRODUCT PROBLEM THEY CAUSED WITHIN 24 HOURS AFTER DELIVERY? So, any way, the customer will be screwed either way when you purchase stuff there. Do not go with this company, they set you to failure at the beginning. If the site allow me to get a negative rating, I have no hesitation to do it. Stay away as far as you can. I am planning to report to the ATTONERY GENERAL OFFICE.
After I read the above reviews, it all make sense to me now. They never want to provide service to you anyway, they just like theft to steal whoever they can steal and treat people like crap since they already have a lot of experience do so. Customers should really get together do something to stop this shop and do not let them harm or hurt people anymore.
DO NOT GO THERE!!!!! If you want to be treated like crap and sold crap then please shop there. You are better off flushing your money down the toilet. We pay cash thinking we would save money. However after they got their greedy hands on the money the services from the female service person was just that “crap”. The so call manager/owner needs to learn to run a business. We got a “NEW” washier does not work, we try to traded, warranty, exchanges for a use. Either way it was going to cost me more money after spending over 1,000 there. Flush your money before you spend your hard work money there
I would not buy from this place again. My mom has bought a few things from them and has had no trouble. She in fact has the same washing machine that I will discuss in this review, only with more knobs. I bought my washing machine in 2010 or 2011. It has done nothing but leak and make horrible noises. I had it fixed by another company and another part must've gone out now. I put over $200 into this washer and I called about it the other day and they wanted to charge me $69 for their tech to come out. The lady pretty much told me to buy another one. I have no clue why my mom has had really good luck with them but I have not. I think I'll just buy new from now on. This $300 washing machine I bought has given me nothing buy trouble.
Do not go here. I was desperate for a new fridge and decided to go here because they were cheap. I bout a used fridge from them with a 1 year warranty. I didn't even get through an entire year before the fridge stopped cooling. I called them to tell them I had a warranty and needed my fridge fixed. They told me it would be $69 to come out. I paid it because I need my fridge to work. When they got here, they informed me that they did not have the part. My heating element (I think that's it) went bad and they had to order a new one. They defrosted my freezer and told me it should last a week until they came out again. It has been a month and I have not heard from them. I also would have had to pay another $69 for them to come out to fix it. Luckily, I have bought a new home that comes with a fridge. Please, stay away for your own good.
Horrible, horrible, horrible – I wish I could rate them 0/5. I have never signed up to write a review in my life. I hate being critical. But I had to write a review in case it saved someone from the same hardship I have endured with this company. I have had an ongoing appliance issue with them for 6 MONTHS. The worst part is I keep calling and Roy or Tyrone or the receptionist will assure me that they will take care of the situation and then schedule a delivery time. The problem is they never show, and the one time they did, they brought the wrong part. They keep pushing my delivery date out further and further and it is a nightmare I wish would end. But I already paid them my one time fee and would like to see some return.
The WORSE Customer Service EVER! Many of the products are used, not scratch and dent. The warranty is a joke not only because you will have to pay each time they come pick up the defective product, but also if they do not fix it right the first time. When they have to come back again another $69 bucks... for delivery, they say. Which I would be okay with if I wasn't paying twice to fix the same problem. The VERY RUDE FEMALE that works in the office does not let you speak with the manager after she is rude to you. She claims to not be the only female that works there which is true however once you talk with her you always remember her condescension. If you get lucky and he picks up the phone and you are actually speak to the manager/owner, he makes so many excuses for this rude female’s behavior and he always turns it around to where it’s not her fault that you are displeased. Well if you are reading the reviews on this site and all the negative reviews you see that she is the cause of many customer service problems. I bought 3 items from this place and I WILL NOT BUY AGAIN. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THEM, I do not recommend them and I will report them to the BBB!!!!!
STAY AWAY FOR YOUR OWN GOOD! – BAD PLACE TO DO BUSINESS, STAY AWAY.
I went there to buy a built-in microwave for my rent house. They were rude, stuck-up and the prices for dent & scratch were as much or more than I could buy a new one from Home Depot so I went to another similar business nearby on Hemptsead Higway. They were nice as can be, charged me less than half of Scratch and Dent Appliance and insisted that I bring it back for a free exchange if there was any problems.
Later, my wife and I needed a refrigerator and went back just to see if the first time was a fluke. Shure enough, it was just as bad or worse. When we were quoted a price, we asked to look at others that proved to be even worse. When we expressed interest in the first item, they then quoted a higher price than they had just quoted a few minutes prieviously. When we said no and started to leave, they then said they would lower the price. Just a scam operation that will ask any price they think the traffic will bear. Best that you just stay away completely. I will never waste my time going there again.
DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY YOU'LL BE SORRY! – DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY --THEY ARE CON ARTISTS--LOOK AT THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU HOUSTON, TEXAS (BBB). THEY RECEIVED AN "F" RATING--THE WORST A COMPANY CAN RECEIVE. Most of us agree that the good reviews are from the people who work there, or from Roy himself. Several people are filing suit.
We purchased from Scratch and Dent on Hoover, and BOY what a mistake! I wish I had listened closely to the location of the "rip off" complaints my neighbors had about this place. I thought they were speaking of a different location. Needless to say, after the purchase, my friends all cringed when I revealed where I purchased our frig. It never worked upon delivery---just as I later read from other reviewers! They sell a defective machine (not just a few scratches) try a COMPLETE inoperable appliance! On top of this they're rude, sarcastic, and aren't worried about customers....on top of this...they charge you for repairs---how does one get charged for something that has NEVER WORKED?! This is the biggest scam! I won't wish this stress on anyone...I've filed a complaint with the Attorney General, and we plan on filing suit, along with some other customers! This man should NOT be in business! Roy is ripping people off! It is simply put: THEFT! Roy is not the manager as some people believe he is the owner along with some other owners...all of this information can be found the Houston BBB website...you can also file a complaint on line if you have an issue. The BBB doesn't LIE!
Excellent – I always buy my appliances that I buy for my home at Scratch N Dent Appliances!! They always take such great care of me, always help me find exactly what I need and always provide me with excellent customer service!!
Everything at Scratch N Dent Appliances was very good and everything was priced fairly!! I was impressed with the great customer service they offered!! I am very pleased with my appliances!!
