Unacceptable Services. We live in Clear lake, and we usually go to Ichiban Restaurant on Egret Bay for Japanese food.

But we just wanted to try out something else, so my husband and I just went to this Little Tokyo restaurant on Fairmont on Thursday July 29th.

We didn’t receive a service that any customers would deserve.

This one teenager guy finally took us to the table, after about five minutes that we have been standing and looking to be seated from any waiter/waitress, and it was not busy at all.

At this point, I was kind of noticed the poor service of any waiters/waitress from the place.

About 10 to 15 minutes after we were seated (and I meant, the place was not busy at all) which all this time, we have been sending a signal looking around for the waiter, but they were just too busy talking among themselves at the counter, and ignored that we needed an attention. I was going to leave but my husband though that was rude, so we stayed.

Finally, we got someone came over; I ordered Salmon and Tuna Sashimi and a bow of stream rice for my meal. After recognized a very poor-services they had given us, I told them to just bring them together in one time, whenever it is ready. What turned out was, the chef has my order ready (about 5 minutes after it has been placed) and put them at the counter next to their kitchen’s entrance.

Imagine this, there were two guys standing between the counter where my food was, having conversation, so my food was just there, above the counter, below their chest level while there were talking.

I don’t have to go into details about what I thought would go into my sashimi. I detested what I have seen but still do not want to be rude, so I called one of the guys to come over and told him that he could bring it to me, if that was my order.

Okay, he went to get it and placed the sashimi’s dish just in front of me (my face), without any manner.

I was very annoyed by the services, and on top of that, the sashimi looks so nasty, salmon was covered with fat and the tuna’s color was very dark and dull, sort of bruising.

At this point, I just had enough. I told the guy; please bring the check, without touching any food.

He said, “Okay” without any courtesy or even bother to ask why or if everything was okay.

He came back with the check, and I do not know if it was by his intention to drop the check from his hand into my table, like he was just throwing it to me, instead of just place it on the table, like anyone with a manner would do. With this incident, all he said to me was “O-Sorry”.

That was very unacceptable, if I could spoke my mine, I would tell him to slaps those sashimi back to his ass (please excuse my language) , and get himself some education (don’t even bother about going to the college level, but perhaps just some home education from somewhere). With the entire incident, I was charged for those nearly-rotten nasty looks sashimi (without ever touching it once by me). I paid and will never go back again.

There are too many good Japanese restaurants around the area, so why bother to go back and dealing with these yahoos?

Good Sushi. I have been going here since shortly after it opened and I go almost once every week, sometimes more. Fortunately, I have never had any problems with the owners or waitstaff. The "female manager" I believe was referred to in a previous post has always been very kind when I've been there. The food is delicious. Even though I have been many times I always struggle with what to get because everything is so tasty. My husband loves this place as well. I will say that you are better off eating early or late lunches or dinners because the restaurant is very small and gets packed quickly during lunch and dinner hours. During these times I have seen people wait for quite a while to get seated and there is not much of a waiting area. Service is also pretty slow during these times so don't be surprised if you have to wait for you food for a bit. Overall, I am happy with this place. It is nice to not have to travel into Houston to eat good sushi.

AMAZING sushi, great service. I am a long time customer of Little Tokyo as well as a former employee, so I suppose you could say I'm a little biased, but I definately recommend it for anyone who loves sushi. You won't find the prices as low as theirs anywhere and the staff truely cares about their customers experience. The managers love to see people return and they will learn your name and your order very quickly. One thing that I will say is it's probably not the best place for a quiet romantic dinner. Things generally get pretty loud (particularly on weekends as there are the regulars who enjoy their sake bombs). Also it is true that the managers won't agree with the customer if they feel they are wrong in any given situation. They do not appreciate people who think they can harass the waiters just because they waited a little longer for their meal than the table next to them. But they are very fair and they do everything they can to make it a good experience for you. Definately try it, you won't regret it!

Fair Food,HORRIBLE Service,Will cheat you on billing BUT dont Argue with staff they'll try to get u arrested). After being long time patrons of this place (two/three times per week for over 1 year), last night they refused to refund/correct their billing error. They also made no effort to make amends for the 45 minute wait for our daughter's WRONG order.

We approached the oriental female manager to check out, she became belligerent. At that point, I left her my business card and asked her to contact me when she had corrected the billing statement. She refused, therefore we left.

Later that evening, she called our cell phone making all types of threats/excuses, but refusing to fix the bill (this is recorded on our voice mail). Soon after, she contacted the local police department, who threatened to place a warrant out for our arrest for stolen services( this too is on our cell phone messages).

We immediately contacted the local PD Desk Sergeant and informed him that we were on our way to resolve this and he agreed, and would send another person to assist the office on the scene.

We arrived, only to be searched and berated by the two officers on the scene. We explained what had happened, and one of the officers actually asked ?why are you here??

We replied. ?to resolve the situation with the restaurant WITH PD assistance, hence the call to the PD Desk Sergeant.?

We went inside and attempted to pay the bill, and she STILL refused to correct the total and items ordered. After trying to be pleasent, the PD became tired of the situation and used the threat of arrest to close out the situation.

At this point we paid the bill for services/products NOT rendered, only to have one of the Officers attempt to threated us again with further theft charges for the same bill!

The oriental female actually said we were welcome to come back any time. They must be kidding!

Later on we called the PD Internal Affairs Officer, and have contacted our family attorney to see what other legal recourse that can be done.

AVOID THIS PLACE!

The Best Japanese Food in the Greater Houston Area. I love Japanese food and have yet to find a better Japanese restaurant in all of Houston. It's an intimate little restaurant and the owner's remember not only your name but what you order. The food is top notch. The sushi is carefully prepared, not just the quality of the meat, but the presentation. I prefer smaller sushi rolls as opposed to the large Chinese Buffet type that seem thrown together and too much to consume in one bite. Little Tokyo has the best of everything!!! You will not be disappointed!!
