Delighted: We are absolutely delighted from start to finish with the results of our project by A.J.’s Landscaping. Coordination with A.J.’s group was efficient and pleasant.

Damon designed a gorgeous variety of plants that complemented each other. He took in consideration the view from both outside and inside the house. My request for something whimsical resulted in two urns that were the Piece de Résistance. My advice is to let the designer “do his thing” and to use A.J.’s irrigation service to install or adjust the sprinkler system. They did a bang-up job of making sure the irrigation system worked with the new landscape.

Jerome, landscape manager, answered all of my questions and was enthusiastic about the project. The crew knew exactly what to do for the end result.

Reading others’ reviews; there are always hitches in any project. My experience was that A.J.’s personnel responded to changes that I wanted and everything went smoothly. Give them a try…you too will be delighted.

So.....I just went into my beautiful backyard to place some pumpkins for the season and I thought....WOW, how amazing is this yard.....I think I should share with others how beautiful it is and how proud I am that is is all mine!!! Let me start by saying....I didnt spend $150K on my yard BUT I did save for months in order to use AJ's Landscaping, and the money that I did spend was BEYOND WORTH IT!!! I could not image a more beautiful space nor could I imagine more talent in designing it!!! I have to admit, once logging on, I was a bit taken back by the negative comments place here but quickly remember, you simply cannot make EVERYONE HAPPY! If we could all achieve a beautiful backyard design on our own, why in the world would we even have to reach out to someone like AJ? I have a simple answer.....WE CANT!!!! If this process was all that easy and simple.....we would all be going to HOUSTON GARDEN CENTER (NO OFFENSE TO THEM) and planting our own plants in some sort of configuration......blah!!! I have to admire AJ, his staff (Keith, thank you for all your hard work and for dealing with my Husband and I throughout the entire process when we didnt know what in the heck we wanted), and his crews and foreman who have to, day in and day out, deal with crazies such as us!! I own a business myself and realize what an effort it takes to be truly gifted at what do you do (AJ, I am speaking to you) and balance all the people who expect too much, too soon! A beautiful, well designed, functional, outdoor living space takes talent, time, and tenacity that is found through using AJ's Landscaping & Design...... I mean REALLY???? Great Job to AJ and all his staff!!!!!!! Hopefully I will save quicky in order to do my River House soon!!! Cant wait!!!!

AJ = All Junk. Terrible customer service. Terrible job planting the trees, shrubs and plants. Zero followup....including replacing the tree that died under warranty. I cant say enough to warn you about this company. VERY DISSAPPOINTING.

I now call them Awful J's instead of AJ's. It took over three months from the time we first met with AJ's to the time we finally had our project completed. We had to follow up with them multiple times to try to get a bid and proposal. We begged them to pay attention to us and had very little follow up from them. No returned calls, no answers to e-mails. I have to say the end product turned out beautiful, but I wouldn't use them again. We want to do business with people that appreciate the dollar we are spending and treat us with respect. Now we have received a bill stating we haven't paid them. I'm looking at our credit card statement that shows the 50% down payment was processed several weeks before the work began. And I am also looking at my cancelled check for the balance. They say they are "researching" it....based on their track record I'm not counting on too much from the research department. It is a shame, everyone tells us how beautiful our yard turned out...but we can't recommend them.

Great sales - Terrible service.. AJ's overpriced take the money and run approach is not anywhere close to the high quality, customer focused approach they advertise. I chose AJ's over Moss because I was impressed with the timely customer focused sales approach. Sales team is very flexible and worked with me to get the right bid and project layed out. However, that's where the high level of customer service and quality workmanship ended. After a week or so I asked that the irrigation team come back out to make sure the sod and beds were being hit properly and they came out but didn't fix the problem. Therefore, I sent an additional email with a couple clean up items (plants growing back, vines within the azealeas were not removed the first time, irrigation still not correct) that I feel should be addressed, including a request for the irrigation team to come back out to address my sprinkler system. I even took pictures and sent one of a few spots in both my beds and the new sod they laid that are not being covered so it could be addressed if I wasn't home....still no reply from AJ's. I feel as though I've given them every chance to make this right. I really wish I would have read the Citysearch reviews prior to hiring them. AJ's overpriced take the money and run approach is not anywhere close to the high quality, customer focused approach they advertise. Go elsewhere.

Great Design - Truly The Worst Service Ever. We hired AJs to refresh our yard and the design and pre-sales service was great. From then on things went rapidly downhill. Plants and Trees died, services were scheduled in the wrong order and contractors never showed plus we were lied to at every step. Avoid this company at all costs!!!

Dissappointed. I just paid $900 to a contractor to fix the patio AJ installed. They may be OK at planting shrubs, but hire a real contractor for anything more substantial.

Never Again!!. I’ll never use AJ’s again. They installed a patio using slate which has been flaking and deteriorating. When I pointed out the problem, I was told slate is not good for the outdoors, but if they re-sealed it, the problem would be abated. It didn’t work. It took 4 weeks to get them to examine the problem. Now they claim the slate is fine: It is the rain that is the problem. They did not think an outdoor patio would be subject to rain???

Beautiful design/Thorough Maintenance. We have been using AJ's landscaping and design for about 16 years and have been extremely pleased with the design and maintenance of our yard. Their professional maintenance crew is very attentive to the details of our yard, they always come on a regular day of the week, and are willing to go the extra mile to make sure our yard looks great. They will occasionally throw in a service at no charge as a suprise, which really makes us happy. Their prices are competitive with other companies, but they offer so much more personal attention than others and a higher quality of work. We have recieved numerous compliments from friends and neighbors, and have even recieved notes in our mailbox asking who does our yard. I highly recommend AJ's.

Very Pleased. I was very pleased with the project from start to finish. I met with the owner of the company and one of his designers. Right away I new the guys were very talented and had a lot of creative solutions to my small backyard. My wife and I were wanting a pool/spa, outdoor kitchen, landscaping, lighting, and so on. On top of the huge wish list, we had major drainage issues. We agreed to a retainer to get going on a master plan. Within two weeks we met to review the desgin. My wife and I fell in love with the design. We did not have the funds to do the entire project right away. They worked with us and our budget. We started with the front/back landscape, outdoor kitchen, lighting, and outdoor kitchen. All the crew and foremen did a great job and were very helpful along the way. We plan to have the rest of the work done next year. We loved the entire staff, and can't wait to get started with the rest. We would highly recommend this company to anyone.
