The Scene – Chico's is across from Stewart Beach and has an airplane on the roof, making it easy to spot. A thatched-roof tiki bar with five giant plasma-screen TVs marks the entrance, while the interior features a mix of island- and Mexican-themed decor. Diners can opt for the air-conditioned indoor dining room or the 5,000-square-foot ocean-view roof-top patio. The upstairs deck has a live music stage, room to dance and a wading pool. After the dinner crowd thins out, the party crowd settles in and the party atmosphere reigns the rest of the night. – – The Food – The…
blah

The chips were good, the chili con queso and hot sauce were okay. Everything else was just blah. We had the lunch tacos al carbon (beef & chicken). The beef was over seasoned and the chicken was just the opposite. My rice was better after putting CCQ on top. Atmosphere inside was okay and I didn't even ask for the patio seating (due to all the construction next door).
Great choice for group dinner
by quesenbarrett at Citysearch
In July I had to plan & host a group dinner for 20+ people. Unfamiliar with the Galveston area restaurants I turned to CitySearch for help. Chico's Paradise turned out to be the perfect spot for our group. Casual and fun atmosphere with not too loud music. They put us upstairs away from the usual dining area; which allowed us to socialize unconcerned about other folks. We had very attentive servers (at least 4 waiters took care of us), prompt service, great drinks (a full bar - they even had real Mojitas), and very tasty food. Everyone I asked said their meal was very good. I had the fried shrimp dinner and was very impressed with the quality and quantity. They also happily split the bill between the 4 credit cards we gave them.
