as authentic as you'll get in houston.
I am cuban, from miami, and my family had multiple cuban restaurants in Miami and Hialeah. I was so surprised when i fist ate there at how good it all was, and grateful when i left. I have not been there in a long time so i really need to make a drive SOON!
you have to end your meal with a little cafesito! dont leave without it ;)

QUE RICO!!!. This is a GREAT! RESTAURANT! People are friendly the service is prompt and clean, the prices are a little high, but, definately worth it. The best Cuban restaurant on the Southwest side. I would strongly recommend this place to people seeking Delicious CUBAN AUTHENTIC FOOD.
my favorite cuban restaurant. if you're looking for delicious cuban food, this is the best place in town. everything we've had here is so delicious. my favorite is the piccadillo. and to top it off, it is very reasonably priced.
Best Cuban Food.
If you like the old days of Pique when there food there was good an affordable this is the place to go. I am Cuban and was raised eating Cuban food and they have the best Cuban food around Houston. I have been to every Cuban place in Houston that I have heard of or been told about and the only thing I can say that is unfortunate for La Vina I that they do not server any type of alcoholic beverages. I like to have a glass of wine with my meal when I go out, but other then that the place is great.
If you are looking for a great Cuban food restaurant take my work this is the place to go.
You'll feel like you need your passport at this ultra-authentic Cuban cafe.
In Short
Houston's answer to the Cuban embargo has arrived on the west side of town in the form of a strip-mall restaurant featuring a wide variety of Cuban specialties for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Portions are very generous and light on the wallet, encouraging a sampling of a companion's selection as well. Delectable pastries made fresh daily, along with coffee that will knock your socks off, make for a popular morning scene.
