Worst Gelato I have ever tasted. This was hands down the worst gelato I have ever tasted. It had so much sugar in it that my throat was burning. It was super saturated with sugar. They over compensated for the poor quality and texture of the gelato with the sugar. They say they care about their reputation over their profits but to me it seemed like they cut down on the churning time per batch of gelato in order to produce and sell more.
Treat yourself!!!. I've never had gelato before but my husband, kids and I decided to go here with a friend on Sunday who has raved about this place on more than one occasion. Now I see why. It's just awesome. They have such an excellent selection of flavors and every one I tried tasted great. Sampled the Wedding Cake flavor (which was fantastic) and the Strawberry Sorbet. Ended up ordering a cup with the Mint Chocolate, Chocolate Turtle and Black Cherry. They were all great but the Black Cherry was by far my favorite. I asked the girl who was working there about the calorie/fat content and she said that a small cup has around 200 calories. My husband found that hard to believe because the taste was better than ice cream but I have heard that gelato is less fattening than ice cream. Even if it weren't, it'd still be worth the splurge. Great place!
THE BEST. I love this place. I am a desert fanatic, and this is definitely one of my favorite places in town. I do prefer the regular flavors to the sorbets. Of the non-sorbets, I haven't had a single bad one. The coffee flavor is great. Recently, I tried vanilla lavender, which was interesting and very good. The cappuccinos are pretty good, too.
I could eat it daily and do most of the tim. I am writing this because I completely disagree with the last rating. Since I first tried Paciugo I have not even touched ice cream and not only because it is better for me, but because it taste better. I think it is better because it is made with whole milk and not cream. Plus, this taste just like the gelato in Italy if not and probably better. I also could not believe the reviewer used the name Baskin Robins in this review. They are obviously on two different levels. I recommend Panacotta and chocolate chocolate chip, however my boyfriend likes the coffee chocolate chip, mint chocolate chip, and pistachio. My sister loves the chocolate sorbet since she is lactose intolerant.
The best Italian Icecream I have ever had!. So I decided to try this place out because I saw it on here and it claimed to have the best icecream. THEY WERE SO RIGHT!!! The menu had so many choices that it took my friend and I forever just to choose what we wanted. I chose a sundae and it was amazing. The flavors were great. I loved how the guy who was working there was so patient as we tried almost all the flavors and I was not dissapointed. I could almost say it tasted that regular iceream. The best part is that gelato has less calroies and fat as regular icecream and it tasted a lot better. Everyone should try this place at least once!
Best gelato in town. Since returning from a trip to Italy, I have been trying to find a gelato place that is comparable to what they had over there. After trying a couple places and feeling unsatisfied, I was happy to stumble upon Paciugo. They have so many different flavors, and their gelato is smooth and creamy and definitely different from regular ice cream. I will be back again and again.
A rainbow of flavors awaits those in search of a decadent Italian dessert that provides a healthier ice cream alternative..
Pronounced "pa choo go" from an Italian dialect meaning "messy concoction," patrons eagerly make repeat visits to this West U-area gelato shop to sample the more than 200 recipes that change daily. Intense flavor varieties feature exotic and impressively authentic natural ingredients from across the globe. For those counting calories, sugar free and soy options are also available. A warm and modern decor provides the perfect setting for a lingering visit or memorable first date.
Best gelato in town. The gelato here is just like in Italy. I loved it! They also have Illy coffee and have coffee drinks that you can add gelato to.
Yummy!. I use to be a great fan of a lil shop called doice and freddo, but since they have gone out of business I have yet to find a place that could even compare, until now! This is the best gelato shop I have ever been to. There are so many wonderful flavors of gelato, or my personal favorite sorbet. They even have a no sugar added selection! It has only been open a short while and they already have regulars. If you really love good gelato or sorbet do your tummy a favor and visit this wonderful shop.
What a wonderful gelato shop!. Ice cream is not ice cream. This Italian gelato shop is the truly a great new destination in Houston. My girlfriend and I have stopped by several times and sampled all of the flavors under the display. Set in the trendy part of town on the corner of Westpark and Buffalo Speedway, this place has some really friendly staff and a great environment. I would HIGHLY recommend to all!
