Texas steakhouses are all too often overpriced put-ons, but Killen's is the real deal: magnificent meat, sourced from all over, and prepared by a real chef rather than nameless functionaries at the broiler. The true Texas meat mecca, and that's saying something!

There are multiple ways to experience your selected cut of beef: from wet to dry-aged, to Wagyu or Mishima. It can be prepared on the 1800 degree broiler or on the wood-fire grill, and based on your selections, the server will suggest the best way for your selected steak.

Ronnie Killen makes scrumptious food.. If you love steak, Killen's Steakhouse is where it's at. Cordon Bleu trained Ronnie Killen has perfected the art of the perfect steak. Winner of the Rodeo Best Bites competition -- beating out at least 60 competitors two years in a row, the food speaks for itself. Crazy-good creamed corn, skillet potatoes, macaroni and cheese and other sides are well worth it, as are the desserts. Think cream cheese topped carrot cake or his signature bread pudding. For the ultimate indulgence, the dry-aged 32oz long bone-in kobe ribeye is ridiculously amazing.

Several types of aged beef and cuts to satisfy anyone. From a small filet to a huge T-bone, Killen's is definitely a quintessential steakhouse, even if its in Pearland. The porkbelly and empanada appetizers were scrumptious, a nice juxtaposition against the familiar steak and potatoes scene. The service is excellent as well.
Great atmosphere, service and food.
I was looking for a local restaurant that had great food and was quiet enough for a business meeting. I wanted atmosphere, service, quality food, and an intimate setting where important introductions could be made and a business relationship commenced. I was not disappointed!
The food was excellent: we had the lamb, snapper, kobe beef and tuna, along with the best lobster bisque I have had in the city!
The setting was intimate enough to where we could speak without having to raise our voices, and our waiter (Ryan) was unobtrusive but attentive. Overall, we had a great evening and I would recommend this restaurant in a heartbeat.
Best Steak in Hoston. I have had the best experience in service and food at Killen's Steakhouse! i am glad it has been awarded as the 4th best steakhouse in TEXAS! the amazing Chef and his staff deserves it!! my steak has always been perfectly cooked...the servers know the wine list and how to pair it with my food and his breadpudding it is to die for!!! :) Last time I was there I tasted his Cream of Corn which is being featured in Food in Wine this month and it is fantastic!!! So thank you Killen's Steakhouse for my best experience eating the best steak of my life! :):)
My Birthday Was Ruined. We tried to go to Killen's for my birthday friday night. We called for directions. The woman who answered the phone told us to take 288 to 35 and turn right, then go past 518. Well we saw signs for Angleton and called the restaurant, and were assured we were going the right direction. We kept heading south, called again, and again were were assured we on the right path. We finally found hwy 35, off of 288 and went right as we were told. I called a friend for directions then and found out is was 30 miles back the way we came off the beltway. We then called for a manager, I believe Paul, who was unsympathetic to this hour and a half tour we had taken because the person who answered the phone, clearly did not know where she was or how to get there. We went to Flemmings since it was close to 10 when we got back to the beltway. We left the house at 8. Thank you Killen's for making me spend my evening driving all over the place. I sent an email and it was never answered. I think customer service is the first place you start, clearly Killen's Steak House has none.
Good Food, Needs a nicer location..
Steak was a "8", sides were a "9", desert a "9 ".
The atmosphere was a "5".
The serrvice was a "6".
The parking lot was a "2".
Overall rating "7.5".
If food is you only concern then you'll like this place.
If you want a romantic and/or classy dinner for about the same price, then go to "Marks" or "Post oak Grill".
Better than I could have imagined.
I have tried most of the steakhouses in the Houston area, however, Killen's rands as the best i have tried. The sides dishes are better than Flemming's, the desserts are better than anyone (try the Cream Brulle Bread Pudding), and the steaks....par none!
My only complaint was the hostess seating us in a bad area even though we were the first people there and her mini skirt that would be perfect for a street walker.
Enjoy!
EXCELLENT STEAKS.
The only negative thing was lack of handicap places
door was difficult to get wheel chair over Ruth Chris.Perry's Mortons.Sullivans theres a new boy in town
Unbelievably DELICIOUS!!!. Husband and I went for anniversary dinner. Made a reservation and table was ready when we arrived. We let the sommelier help us choose a wine and it was PERFECT! Tuna appetizer, filet, potatoes au gratin all superb, and then came the dessert -- oh my gosh! The creme brulee bread pudding was incredible! Service was exceptional - very attentive but not intrusive, and we didn't feel rushed at all. My only complaint was it was very cold in the room where we sat, and the tables were slightly crowded. Otherwise, awesome! As soon as I save up, I'll be back.
Make reservations, Incredible service.
Beware if the hostess is bringing you to sit in the back room, there was a party of 18 people back there when I went and I couldn't even hear my waiter when he was speaking it was so loud. Plus where the table was situated where I sat, it was SMALL even for just two people, was right up on the wall, had the air conditioner vent at my back, and a door to the outside on my side, not a very intimate scenery or feel at all. Instead I felt cramped while eating and even while cutting my steak my knife and elbow were hitting the wall cause our table was so close.
Onto the food....now wedge salads are my most favorites, Killan's menu makes it a point to name Apple wood smoked bacon on this salad, which to me is a huge part of the salad, however, if you are looking for more than literally a FEW small specks of the bacon on your plate you will be hugely disappointed. I found the total bacon to be on my salad equivalent to my pinky nail, thats NOT exaggerating. The 6 oz Center cut was delicious, no complaints. I also shared two sides: potatoes au gratin and the sauteed mushrooms, which were equally delicious and just enough for two people. For dessert I tried the award winning bread pudding, now this bread pudding is out of this world and possibly the BEST I have ever eaten. The wait staff was extremely attentive, always had our iced tea full, checked on us several times thru out the meal, and was prompt. The hostess, well, could be more welcoming and don more professional attire. Overall, food was good, atmosphere not so much, and wait staff was attentive.
Not worth the trip. My husband and I wanted to try a different place so after reading all the reviews, decided on Killens to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had reservations but still had to wait over 30 minutes for a table unless we wanted to sit by the bathroom. The service was somewhat slow but very nice wait staff. We ordered crabcakes, bone in steak, wedge salad, cream corn and potatos and a bottle of wine. Our meal was $300 eventhough we split everything. The corn was incredible but the remainder was nothing better then a steakhouse buffet. If you want a great steak, go to Capital Grill or Strip House......
