DON'T BELIEVE THE HATERS...SATURDAY NIGHTS ARE OFF THE CHAIN!!!. This spot is jumpin Saturday nights. Definitely not for the boring party goers!

Not for youngsters or old folks....just the grown and seXXXy. Have tried the menu and it's good. My service was great and my drinks flowed steady all night....keep your eye on the VIP area....they know how to party!

WOW! I spoke with the owner and he was very nice and thanked our group for coming by. See you next weekend ON THE BAYOU!!

A unique and great experience!!. We read the reviews on here and some were good and some were bad. We decided to try it all i know is that this place is a blast! From the valet service, to the music and food...it reminded me of places like this that I have been to in cities like New York, Chicago and New Orleans. We wanted to go on a double date somewhere to have dinner AND drinks/music so we didn't have to drive all over town, and this was perfect. We had a mixture of appetizers, I had the steak and I think my date had the crawfish etouffee...everyone at the table raved about how good their food was. Service was on, especially for how busy they were. The best part was that when we were done eating, we hung out, had drinks danced and didn't have to go anywhere else to do it! It started as a sort of chill scene with live jazz music but then a DJ started taking over as it got later and it was a little more of a party! We'll definitely be back.

A Great Place To Eat and Party!. Contrary to some of the comments I've read here, I have been to On The Bayou several times with both small and large groups, had great experiences, wrote a Rave Review AND I DO NOT HAVE ANY FINANCIAL INTEREST IN THE BUSINESS! I am APPALLED at the malicious, mean-spirited attacks on this business. They should be applauded for attempting such a huge venture. All of the complaints have been petty and obviously reflected by small-minded, envious and hateful people. Like I said before, the owners are new to the Houston area and like most new businesses, it takes a while to work out all of the kinks to provide the kind of service at more established ones like Pappadeux's, who have been around for many years. We all have had a bad experience at even the most established places at some time or another. Actually, I went to Pappadeux's and waited 40 minutes for my meal and when it came, it was cold. To top that off, the waiter spilled water all over me. So, even seasoned establishments are not perfect. It's obvious that the owners of On The Bayou have invested a great deal to build that beautiful establishment and maybe they do need some help. Instead of a willful desire to destroy them and everything they've created, it would help to offer some advice or assistance to aid in their success. The food is really good, they provide live entertainment and I know there are few places of it's kind. As easy as it is to see the negative and say horrible things, it can be just as easy to look for the positive aspects and share those comments as well. No business is perfect especially if they're new and if someone is trying to do something special, a little support and encouragement could go a long way.

Sorry.. you've got to be kidding. i visited this place 3/15/2008. My company has me housed about 2 miles down from here so figured I would check it out. Paid 5 buck cover to listen to the live music.LIve music turned out to be a guy playing the drums to the music the DJ was playing. Thought maybe he was just doing the intemission.. Nope. He played along all night.. What a joke. The lady next to me ordered some fries and they somehow got messed up and she got her money. back which didn't encourage me to try the food. How do you mess up fries?? So of course right after that.. chef comes off the dance floor(yep he was out there dancing with his chef hat on) and tries handing everyone menus encouraging them to order food. Too funny. Drinks were horrible. Tequila sunrise tasted like straight OJ. Figured I'd try the wine selection. Honestly, the white wine made my stomach hurt so bad I went home and didn't stop hurting til the next day. I ddin't even finish it is the crazy part. Drank maybe 1/3 of it. Wow what a disappointment. Go somewhere else please

The WORST!!!!!!!! Dining Experience Ever!!!!!!!!. If you want to go to a place that infers themselves as a "Supper Club" then "DO NOT !!!", I repeat "DO NOT !!!!" got this establishment. The waitress was inexperienced at best, and the management and owner(s) are completely ineffective. The evening started wonderfully, as I was there to celebrate the 21st birthday of my niece. We arrived at the establishment and were greeted by promptly by the Valet Service. We entered and were immediately impressed by the ambiance and general decor. We were seated and ordered a drink and promptly served. This is when the proverbial wheels fell off the bus! Upon waiting for an astounding forty plus minutes for another drink, we regretfully decided to place a food order. Not to be outdone after the first mistake we waited approximately one hour prior to requesting to speak with management. What were we thinking? We did not get the Manager but, the Owner. Obviously this situation was going to get the matter resolved, the owner was involved, Right? NOT!!!! The owner informed us that our food was delivered to our table and we were not there to receive it. The Owner only exasperated the problem since he had limited interpersonal skills and obviously even poorer managerial. I attribute the aforementioned to poor training, poor service, poor problem solving and complete ineffectiveness as a leader. In summation, if you want a great ambiance without anything else this is your place.

UNORGANIZED SERVICE. I went to this resturant for a birthday. I RECEIVED horrible service with an attitude(FROM THE OWNER AND EVENT COORDINATOR) not only that but I paid a great price for it. My guest didnt even get to order entrees .. I provided appetizers.(that were pre-purchased). 2 of my guest ordered $22.00 a piece steaks that were removed from the crowded area.. (by a bus boy).. DID I MENTION 1 of my GUEST .. WASNT DONE WITH STEAK ! Speaking of appetizers and food .. the crab b a l l s were cold and the crab fingers were too oily to eat... the chicken fingers were cold .... and it took them over 1 hr to prepare. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone .Save your money and time for a place that will respect you and earn your money. They were just too unorganized!!!

BELIEF THE REVIEWS THAT SAY OVER PRICED AND UNDER SERVICED. I talked friends into going to this "JAZZ CLUB"!!!! The live band was extremely talented. The vocals who would know. The music was so loud you couldn't hear them. Way too much volume for such a small intimate setting.

We ordered drinks and after sitting for 30 minutes we asked the waitress where they were. She said the bar was busy and they weren't ready yet (15 people max). Lets just get to the facts. HORRIBLE SERVICE, OVER PRICED FOOD, DRINKS THAT WILL CAUSE AN ALCOHOLIC A HANGOVER AND THE FOOD ISN'T WORTH EATING. I ordered Shrimp Creole that was so hot from cayenne pepper that my lips started to swell. I sent it back and asked for an order of cat fish nuggets.

It took over an hour for them to prepare 3 orders with only about 50 people in the restaurant.

My friends ordered the seafood platter and the red beans and rice with fried chicken wings. The fries were cold the taste was horrible, the red beans were thick and gooie and tasted scorched, and my fish nuggets never arrived.

Oh YEA and they sell clothes, jewelry and purses in the corner with dimmed lights.

TACKY!!!!

AVOID AT ANY TIME. FIRST OF ALL THE PRICES ARE TOO HIGH, 5 PEOPLE DRANK ABOUT 3 ROUNDS AND OUR TAB WAS $128, FOOD IS NOT ALL THAT AND THE WAIT IS TOO LONG, PORTIONS ARE TOO SMALL, FOOD IS ROOM TEMPERATURE. EMPLOYEES ARE NOT HAPPY WE OVERHEARD THEM TALKING IN THE BATHROOM. OWNERS DON'T LISTEN TO CLIENTELE REGARDING ISSUES, THEY'RE JUST OUT TO MAKE THE ALL MIGHTHY DOLLAR. STAY CLEAR OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT.

Lively Cajun food restaurant and jazz music venue on Houston's west side.. In Short
Considering the owners are recent transplants from Louisiana, it should come as no surprise that this Galleria-area eatery boasts a friendly, come-as-you-are vibe and authentic dishes, plus frequent live jazz music and a pleasant outdoor patio. The menu features classic Cajun and Creole cuisine that smacks of secret family recipes: shrimp Creole, crawfish etouffee, New Orleans-style red beans and rice, spicy jambalaya, oxtails, short ribs, blackened fish and gumbo. Chicken and waffles, salads and po-boys round out the offerings. Lunch portions provide a better chance for cleaning your plate.
