“Good food, fantastic service”
“This is a Turkish restaurant has a phenomenal lunch menu filled with in expensive Doner sandwiches to go as well as a nice quiet place to eat during the lunch time hours.”
delicious food:) very good service.
Although I'm not in love with the interior of the place, the food was so great I give 5 stars. Delicious rice, meat, fish, hummus, bread, vegetables - everything fresh and served nicely. The portions were just perfect - not ridiculously large like in some restaurants but also not small - just fine to feel well.
Our servers were very nice - attentive but discreet - we were given very good amount of attention (I don't like when a waiter comes to my table all the time but also don't like waiting and here the balance was perfect).
Definitely will be coming back.
Terrific Service.
This restaurant is hidden away off the main street but worth looking for. The service was terrific. All the wait staff were attentive and friendly. The waiter was very helpful and the chef came out from the kitchen to talk to the guests and assured us he would prepare our food with great care.
He wasn't lying. The food was very good.
Turquoise Grill is my new favorite restaurant. My husband and I first dined at Turquoise Grill the weekend before July 4, 2010. A very good friend gave such a glowing report that we felt compelled to go. From the moment we walked through the door, Jim (the owner) made us feel as though we were old and dear friends. I have never met a more gracious host in my life. Because we were unfamiliar with Turkish cuisine, he spent a few moments explaining each dish to us. It all sounded so delicious that we were unable to make up our minds. So, he let us go "off menu" and put together a family style meal with a little of this and a little of that. Now, I must tell you, they serve the best lamb in the city - bar none! The prices are reasonable and the food is always fresh and tasty. I like the little, homey touches -- unlimited hot tea, shepherd bread, the warm conversation. All of these things made our first experience at Turquoise Grill a success. We went back the next week with our daughter, and again last Saturday (August 21). Jim remember us each time come and always greets us with a friendly hello and a warm hug. Go to Turquoise Grill and see for yourself. I promise, it will not disappont.
Turquoise is the color of my heart!. This is a Turkish restaurant has a phenomenal lunch menu filled with in expensive Doner sandwiches to go as well as a nice quiet place to eat during the lunch time hours. In the evening, they cater to a more sedentary crowd. They have a wide selection of meat and vegetable plates that are of the highest quality. Their location is their biggest disadvantage, but if you can find someone to take you there you will definitely bring a friend or two back with you the next time that you visit. The staff is friendly, but the food can take a while to come out. The quaint restaurant offers sports channels to watch while dining and an impressive desert selection.
Mediocre food, bad service.
I like turkish food. I have been to Istanbul Grill several times and enjoyed it a lot.
I saw the reviews of this place and had high expectations.
But it was a big disappointment. The waiter was terrible. When we got there, he showed us a table, which was not clean. There were no silverware, we had to ask for it twice. He brought us dirty menus, took forever to take our orders. The soup was cold and had a funny taste.
We ordered calzone and some kebab. The kebab was OK but the calzone was terrible....
We had to wait for our check as well...
If you want good Turkish food, this is not the place....
The Best Adana Kebab in town.
Obviously the best Adana kebab is in Turquoise Grill. It is a blend of spicy grounded beef and lamb on a skewer.
Its personable staff makes the restaurant more and more beautiful. They all put their heart into the restaurant to make every customer happy. They always help me and my friends whenever I go there.
They also have the best brick oven baked bread and grilled lamb dishes. Definitely no one can make the same or better lamb in Houston. Everyone should definitely try Turquoise at least once in a life time.
Great for kids!. The food is good! It is a great place to bring the kids. They will enjoy eating "the best pizza ever" since they get to make it! The owner is very personable and friendly!
Fresh, Tastey Food and unique Live Music. As we listened to a local singer/songwriter the owner came over to our table to check on us. Both the gyro meat and veggies we extremely fresh and flavorful. At the end of the night he offered all remaining diners a complimentary glass of wine!
