“This place is by far the worst place I've ever visited and I can't really see a positive point except its location.”
“best hookah bar in houston.”
“went there few times already and the food is not amazing, more like an OKAY middle eastern food.”
“its a really nice place but i wonder sometimes how they let nasty woman go in that cheats on their husband and they dont evn know who the father of their kids is but dont get me wrong i love the poeple there but so it can always be respectful we dont need”
“will be back in about a week or two, but hopefully I get a different waiter who makes my experience a little bit more enjoyable.”
“Terrible service and rude manager”
“Second time I had my real card, they accepted, but the hookah was way overpriced, and they never clean out the coal for you unlike Ranoosh (highly recomend).”
“The service is slow and not much customer service but it has great food and a good atmosphere.”
Not the best place.. I've always heard that it was a fun place to chill with your friends, but after visiting the place I didn't like the fact that the food took a really long time to come and it wasn't really worth the wait nor was worth the price, hooka was also over priced.
Terrible service. The manager was incredibly rude and the service was slow and pretty terrible overall.
Not the best service in town.
Had a party of 30 a few months ago so i thought I could bring them @ Layal for the live entertainment they had on friday, I was really disappointed at the service specifically when we needed refills or placing extra orders she would never show up, what was more disappointing was when we ordered six plates of the $10 appetizer it arrived 20 minutes late and when we started to eat up exactly less than 5 minutes our main orders arrived and this waitress just picked up the appetizers and took off with it, some of which haven't been touched yet... long story short at the end I argued about this move and disputed the bill but she insisted it was charged and the manager wasn't here to refund the 3 appetizer plates.....
Won't go there again thats for sure!!!
how old should the perso be to work there. i asked the manager i think he will never replys because he doesnt use this website that my opinion so my question is how old the person should be to work at cafe layal
great first time!. so yea this was my first time going out with a couple friends to this hookah bar ..i had a real geat time the waiter i had was very polite and patient although it did take a long time to get any service and to get our food and drinks but overall it was a good experience will be coming back
cafe layal management.
Hi
This is rami cafe layal's manager, guys i really appreciate your comments that push us to work more to approve the service and the food, cafe layal is like any other business has a manager so please if ANY THING wrong happened i will appreciate if you come and talk to me about it and i promise to get it solved
Terrible: staff lies to you, then Argues! STAY AWAY..
You should be able to give a zero-star rating!!
I went here a few years ago and it was okay (not great, but acceptible). This time, here's what happened:
-Waiter never refilled water- we had to request more.
-Beef was half fat cut up and grilled to look like beef.
-Waiter gave me false info on what I would get. The server stood there and argued with me when I asked a simple question. Then he TOOK my food off the table, threw out half the fries, and put about a spoonful of hummus on there & brought it back with no pita- I had to ask someone else. Waiter flat out said the menu is wrong when it clearly says "All entres come with house salad, hummus, and pita".
-Also, the staff can't speak English well at all, and forget ever trying to catch their eye-- they are OBLIVIOUS, even with only about 10 customers in the whole place. The only guy who even hinted at caring whatsoever told me it was his first week.
-The guy who argued with me glared at me every time he walked by my table. I lost my appetite.
Benefit of the doubt, i tried.... I heard good reviews in real life about this place, so I had to check it out. I visited the first time with the intent of smoking shisha, I didn't have my card, rather I had the temporary paper that the DPS gives during a waiting period, the waiter didn't accept and took our drinks, we didn't want to leave, we were hungry. I ate, the food was alright. Second time I had my real card, they accepted, but the hookah was way overpriced, and they never clean out the coal for you unlike Ranoosh (highly recomend). The food, like the first time, took way to long (it was shawarma sandwich), about 30 minutes. They sneak in a 15% tip like Maryz (ripoff) and than expect you to pay another tip, seems like a scam, especially with the terrible service. I recommend Ranoosh.
Formerly a great place to relax....
A few years back, I attended Cafe Layal for the first time. I was really impressed, since I had never been to a hookah place before. It was never really full and most of the clientele was middle eastern. When I attended a few times recently after a long time of not being there, it was a change of 180 degrees; it was full of high schoolers (which I bet if they began carding again, half of the restaurant would be empty), both of the times that I went recently, it took almost 20 MINUTES just to place out order (one of the times, the place wasn't even full).
It's sad to see that this place has completely gone to the dumps. I go there once in a while now, but my friends and I have been forced to look for other places that offer better service.
Scam. Beware of paying with credit card. I was told my credit card was declined (had plenty of limit on the card), so I gave them another one which they charged. 2 months later they charged me on the first card that they said they declined. So basically they double charged. If it happens to anyone beware of getting double charged which could be few months later.
