The Scene – Built in the 1840s, this island landmark gets a classy update from its pub past. Dominated by a 25-foot wooden bar built locally in the '30s, the main dining room is an appealingly masculine mix of dark wood paneling, elegant artwork and pleasant cigar smoke. Upscale locals enjoy professional service and a romantic atmosphere. – – The Food – Chris Lopez, executive chef and co-owner, sets out an ambitious menu of modern steakhouse fare and seafood with Asian influences. Appetizers include the must-try seviche: spicy ahi tuna with mango; Thai Dungeness crab…

What a find!

by ca02k16 at Citysearch

Stumbled across this restaurant one evening after another well known local place told us there would be a 1.5 hr wait! The outside is not very impressive but once you enter this fine establishment you know you will be in for a treat. The hostess asked if we had a reservation and informed us that they were fully booked. She then offered to prepare a table for us on the deck and asked if we would like to view it first. The back deck is beautiful! As it was hot she turned on a few fans and the staff prepared the table with linens and wiped down the chairs. With such fine service we were excited to see what the menu had to offer. We were not disappointed! Being a ceviche fanatic, I was wonderfully surprised to see they offer several different ceviches. I recommend ordering Degustation which is a sample of each ceviche. A nice older gentleman came to our table and offered a sample of another appetizer. He chatted with us a bit and he made us feel like visiting relatives. The dinner was superb, I ordered the Snapper Mojito and my partner ordered one of their specials (forgive me for forgetting exactly what he had as my dish captivated my attention). Wonderful service, beatuful atmosphere and delictible food made our evening a memorable one.

  • Pros: Gracious hostess, friendly/competent staff, delicious food!

The best cooks in town

If you have the money honey they have the thyme. Parsley too says the sage. I've played the patio and could live on the garlic bread and butter alone.. Great dishes, entertainment and historic atmosphere.
