“Also, loved the cookie sandwich for dessert.”
“The bar and patio are great, the martinis are fantastic.”
“Great food, great staff, awesome atmosphere!”
“Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive.”
“IF only 1 thing is on a menu that I don't like then it must be a great restaurant!”
“Won't go back again, and have already told others to stay away unless high priced bad food is on their list.”
“The knowledgeable server said it would come medium; it came medium rare, but I think I preferred it medium rare anyway, so no harm, no foul.”
“The food was excellent, the restraunt is very clean and for the area and atmosphere really not as pricey as rumored.”
“Our seating for our reservation was about 30 minutes late but we had a nice private room that more then made up for our wait.”
excellent. Great hang out place. loved the blue cheese potato chips, rich and richer...I love the atmosphere. there's not any place like this in Plano. Also, the Prime Rib was juicy and perfect. (i hate it when prime rib is overcooked and an ugly gray color) Their meat was perfect. Also, loved the cookie sandwich for dessert. Will go back soon.
Pass. OK I had heard what a great restaurant this was, and had even seen its sister location in Dallas voted as "best bbq ribs in the US" on food network. What a disappointment! There was nothing remarkable except the bill ($450 for four). My party had prime rib, ribs, steak, and scallops. The only one that even got a C was the prime rib, but that is hard to screw up. The wine list was really just average. The appetisers were hardly touched at my table. The wait staff was eager, but unknowledable. This place must be coasting on its reputation becasue the food is just not good. It is easily the worst food in the Market Square line-up. Great place for outdoor drinks though.
I Just Didn't Love It. This restaurant is incredibly beautiful. The bar and patio are great, the martinis are fantastic. The food, however, left a lot to be desired. I had a bacon cheeseburger that was huge and all the condiments came on the side. Interesting, but at McDonald's they put the ketchup on for me and I spend about $9 less. One of the other people I was with had the prime rib, which would have been a better choice. For the 4 of us, and we didn't drink alcohol, 3 various cheese burgers and a prime rib came out to over $100 after all was said and done.
Great customer service, BBQ Ribs was excellent, Interior Decor Very Nice. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. He made good recommendations. The Slow cooked BBQ ribs was very good, however my peach pork tenderloin was a little dry. The crab cakes were ok but nothing special. I liked the decor and the layout of the room was very good well done and was condusive to have private conversations. Other than that very good experience overall.
So not worth it!!!!!!. Save your money for some place worth it. I took my husband for Valentines dinner, worst mistake ever. I ordered my meal medium well to well done asking not to see any pink. They brought it to be as pink as ever the waitress took it back and asked to be cooked more, well more was charcol. The edges were so burnt they flaked right off. Once again they took it back and did it better, but by then and a good 20 minutes or so later I was just over it. I was ready to leave. My husband asked me to give it a try so I did but my night was ruined. Manager offered a return meal compimentary for following day. But we are not interested. This place came recommended, but I would recommend not going. So not worth it.
Not a Fan. Went to Jasper's for Valentine's Day and sat at the bar, since we didn't have reservations. Had to wait at the bar for seats to become available. We thought the special menu for Valentine's only applied to outside seating but when we asked for the full menu, like the reception desk had suggested, we were only given the holiday menu. Service at the bar was poor, I have had more attentive serivce at Denny's. We felt roped in and ripped off as the Barmaid proceeded to steer us away from what we wanted and instead we ended up spending far more than we wanted. The food was fair, not impressive. The door to the outside kept being left open which was not comfortable and we had to keep asking for it to be closed. We also had to keep asking for beverages to be refilled after considerable effort to get the bar staff's attention. Money is better spent elsewhere for better taste, service and environment.
exceeded my expectations. My co-workers and I were in town from Houston and went to Jasper's on a Thursday night after a long day of work. Jasper's is located in the center of an ersatz town square that makes you feel as though you just stumbled onto the movie set of the Truman Show. As soon as I walked into the restaurant, I looked at the stylish decor, saw the good-looking suburban crowd gathering at the bar, and thought to myself "Uh oh: I'm in a gussied up Chili's. Hotel food, here we come" I'm happy to say that I was wrong, and that Jasper's exceeded my expectations in almost every way. We ate calamari that was tender, not chewy, and was served with the perfect amount of sauce (smoky soy sauce with citrus) It was delicious! Among the entrees we ordered was a flat iron steak that was seasoned perfectly and was served with spinach that was allowed to be spinach (not covered with heavy sauce or wilted beyond recognition). The ribs were coveted by everyone at the table and were served with this ridiculously good potato concoction that tasted like a bakedpotatosaladfries. Can't describe it. The only critique we had was that the temperature of many of the proteins was off. The salmon, which was requested pink, was fully cooked (though not overcooked), and the ribeye, which was requested slightly pink, was bright red. Interestingly, I ordered the flat iron and asked that the grill station prepare it as they thought best. The knowledgeable server said it would come medium; it came medium rare, but I think I preferred it medium rare anyway, so no harm, no foul. Ultimately, we all were so pleased by the food that we were still talking about it the next day.
This Plano heavy hitter brings its homespun American cuisine and ultrachic decor to the Market Street complex..
In Short
Incorporating outdoor elements like teak furniture, bamboo planters, stone and natural fabrics, Jasper's softly lit dining room is sophisticated and welcoming. The American menu focuses on the restaurant's trademark "backyard cuisine." Standout starters include the Maytag blue cheese potato chips, wood-roasted breads or Priscilla's "sink" salad. Sample comfort food dishes like the peach-barbecued pork tenderloins, pan-seared salmon with mascarpone polenta or the smoked baby back ribs. Cast iron side dishes and sinful desserts round out the menu.
Ambience. Great atmosphere, great bar and patio area. The food is just ok. The crab cakes have too little crab meat.
After being recommended...a disappointment!. Many of our Woodland's neighbors suggested we try this restaurant so off we went. We did not want the 1 1/2 hour wait so sat a the bar until a nearby bar table opened up. The bar was great - service good and martinis excellent. The food, however, was a disappointment. My husband ordered the $37 bone in rib steak which was terrible. I ordered the $17 trout which was fair. I think for the price there are much better restaurants in the Woodlands area - i.e. Perry's, Flemings, Kirby's etc.
