“strongly DO NOT recommend this place as first, there is no ambience at all!”
“This place serves the best biriyani and best lamb curry I have ever had in Houston.”
“Normally when I visit this area of Hillcroft, I go to Udipe's cafe, for a good dosa, but since I went to the Himalaya, I can't get enough of the place.”
“The owner is very rude and absolutely not clean.”
“This is idiotic, since there are 4 seats to most every table there -- so even if I had been by myself, would I have had to order 4 dishes to make it worth his while?”

Flavorful & Fresh Indian/Pakistanian Food. Chef Kaiser's food is always flavorful & fresh with high quality ingredients. I <3 the lunch special- where you can get 4 different dishes, rice & naan for around $10.
Great All Around. Great food. Great service. I love having an authentic Indian food restaurant in my area!
A DIASTER FOOD............ NOT AT ALL GOOD SERVICE...............THE MAN IN THE FRONT REGISTER IS SOO ARROGANT AND DOES'NT KNOW, HOW TO BEHAVE TO THE CUSTOMERS............FOOD IS HORRIBLE................LOT OF SPICES ONLY AND DOES'NT TASTE GOOD.....................BAD EXPERIENCE................I THINK ONLY GOOD TO THOSE REGULAR CUSTOMERS...........
Great Staff. I took my date here for her birthday and we had a great time. We were greeted by a super friendly receptionist and the service was awesome. The meal was mouth watering all the way down to the last bite. The design and atmosphere of the restaurant was outstanding as well. I highly recommend Himalaya Restaurant for anyone seeking a great restaurant to sit down and dine at.
Do not eat here, they reuse food customer leaves. Guys I am absolutely disgusted when my own brother who is doing his MS in clear lake told me what happens there. He worked there for 3 days and he was instructed to restore the Biryani and raitha customer leave without eating and serve to the next customer. He stopped working there after seeing that and none of our friends went there after knowing the fact. How can they use the food left over by someone and serve it to others. How many diseases are we subjected to with this restaurant.
Great Experience. The food and service here is superb! I'm still not accustomed to the entire Himalayan culture, but this restaurant definitely brings me closer to it. The atmosphere is very traditional and the music is cool that they play in there. Overall a great experience for me and I would recommend this spot to anyone.
No Complaints. I don't understand what everyone's complaint is. You get what you pay for: Great food, Great service, and a wonderful restaurant to enjoy your meal at. I think some people just don't know what good food and good service is. I surely do, and that's why I recommend Himalaya Restaurant to all!
Great Experience. I was blown away when I got my dinner! The food was so delicious, and very authentic. The service was great, and very courteous, they really know how to serve the public. Great experience. I highly recommend.
Been craving some good haleem for a while so...
was telling the hubby i wanted to try this place cuz i had thought he'd never been here. He went OFF!! He says he had been many years ago and decided never to return because he and his friend had walked in during a weekday lunch hour during which they were offering a buffet. So his friend opted for the buffet but my husband said he's gonna check out the lunch menu and asked the owner for the menu. The owner replied "Well, i want to let you know just in case, that since u r odering from menu you are obviously not allowed to eat off your friend's plate!"
How low can the owner go? Seriously? I thought hubby was exaggerating and just being a drama queen (lol) but when i came here to check if anyone particularly mentioned their Haleem being good and came across almost EVERY REVIEW STATING that the owner is an ass.
I really want to try the haleem though. Does anyone suggest it?
Also, hubby did mention that he is grumpy about not getting a big enough tip.
Rude service!! Stink Place!!. The owner and the waiters are just rude and rude. I know nothing about Indian food, it tasted like a curry cook with lots of black pepper and chillies. Very strong and intense. You have to wash your mouth really good in order to speak again. However, the service is really not pleasant. You feel like the owner and the waiter are eyeing on you through out the meal with that cold stone on their faces. And it is just nasty dirty... from the cheap table cloth, and the very ugly decoration... everything looks just ..?? This is an restaurant or a flea market?? And when you pay for the bills, the owner directly ask tips for his poor mexican waiters. He should feel shame about himself!! Don't go!!
Amazingly rude owner that acts like a used car salesman.
Owner up-sells on items and demands tip for a poor restaurant service experience. This place only has one rude waiter that never shows up on time and is rude. And the owner expects you to tip him??
I would truly look at this guys bachelor and masters records at the medical school to see if they are even real.
The owner always gets you to order other stuff no matter what you order. If you order chicken karahai then he will try to sell you chicken boti ETC.
Also the food is very mediocre. I honestly do not know why people dine at this establishment.
