In Short – Restaurateur Youssef Nafaa (Saffron, Mia Bella) brings crepes into the mainstream with this fast-casual sidewalk café. The thin, delicate crepes are available in sweet and savory varieties. Sample chicken, Moroccan sausage or smoked salmon crepes for a lunchtime treat or spinach and roasted vegetable. Or create your own unique crepe with your choice of two fillings and a sauce. Freshly made soups and salads round out the menu. Also available are brewed teas, specialty coffees, gelato and creme sodas. –

Editor's Tips

Where to Sit:
The restaurant mainly does to go orders, but there are still a handful of tables inside for diners. The outside tables provide the best spot for a lingering cup of coffee and a breakfast crepe.
ambiance
100.0% positive
  1. It looks slightly more dressed up than a Shipley's Do-Nuts store, and the chairs are not all that comfortable, but the crepes are without words great!
  2. The atmosphere is great, and I can't wait for the weather to get cooler so we can start sitting outside!
  3. The location is really good for people watching.
  4. Granted, Coco's isn't going to yield the same ambience as having a crepe at a streetside cafe in Paris, but the crepes are seriously good.
  5. The staff was counter staff, not service oriented, the decor is slightly lacking, but the crepe was wonderful.
  6. am a regular there, and not just because of it's convenient location.

  1. The dessert crepes are also delicious.
  2. Gelato instead of ice cream are excellent additions to the dessert crepes.
  3. really enjoy the intimate setting and delicous assortment of desserts!
  4. am not a big fan of calorie-loaded coffee drinks and though I enjoy my coffee without cream or sugar, sometimes I crave something a little sweeter than my regular dark roast.

  1. It's nice to sit out there on a week/weekend night to enjoy a good bottle of wine from Spec's with a friend or two and people watch.
  2. love coffee and I enjoy trying out different roasts.
  3. The best thing to go to COCO is that you are treated as friend there not just a stranger to order a coffee to go.
  4. In addition to the standard espresso bar, CoCo's offers up creative smoothie blends, Italian sodas, gelatos, chocolates and of course, crêpes.
  5. They have unique flavors like hazelnut, espresso, pistachio, but their french vanilla is the best - it was unbelievably good.
  6. am not a big fan of calorie-loaded coffee drinks and though I enjoy my coffee without cream or sugar, sometimes I crave something a little sweeter than my regular dark roast.

Alright Experience

by CasieLynn

This is where I first tasted crepes. I thought it was okay, but i wasn't a big fan of it. I got the strawberry and banana nutella crepe dessert and it tasted alright to me.

When I had my 22nd birthday, we hired a crepe guy from "creative crepes" and that's when I fell inlove with it! It was delicious and that's the real thing..

So I guess what I mean is that.. It wasn't a best experience for me. Staff were alright, food was alright, but location is great.

I don't mind coming back again, but I know I could get better crepes somewhere else.

I like this place a lot!

by blue eyed80

As a big fan of crepes I was very happy to discover this place.

Crepes are delicious - both salty and sweet.

Staff is sympathetic and this midtown area is so nice - I love sitting outside just enjoying this unique Houston quarter.

Sara is lacking in Customer Service

by SunnyBunz

This is one of my favorite places to eat. However, every time I ask for a Booster and Sara waits on me, she makes some lame excuse as to why she can't make it. Most of the time it is "we are out of hot sauce". We went yesterday and I requested a Booster, was given the lame excuse of "we are out of hot sauce" and lo and behold as I was walking outside, a big ole bottle of hot sauce was sitting on the condiment cabinet. I took it up and put it right next to the cash register where she was and she just looked at me like, "and?" I asked one of the other wait staff why she does this and they replied that she "only wants to be a cashier". Sara, if you don't want to serve your customers, go be a cashier at Randall's. Other than that the rest of the staff is WONDERFUL and the crepes are unsurpassed!

  • Pros: Great food, great coffee.
  • Cons: Sarah
