“ambiance, good service and good food”
“We did not order desert.”
“Great bar scene, sat next to Billy Gibbons of ZZTop one time -very nice guy.”
“We both had a cup of clam soup for our appetizer which was very good.”
“The food is great, the menu varied, and I am picky.”
“They could have put any so-so copycat Italian chain in this shopping center, but they put a great and original restaurant.”
“Other than the bad apple, we enjoyed it and will be back.”
“The food is delicious, especially the fish, the service is top notch and wine savvy and the look of it is very pleasing.”
“The waiters are very knowledgeable and very helpfull, just let them know ahead of time your wine price range.”
“If you like Italian and want a great place to go, make sure you head to Arturo's just as long as you stay away from the waiter Geurmo (he was so bad that we made sure to get his name on the way out so that we would request anyone but him).”
One of my favorite Italiano spots in
town.
Visits to Arturo's always include an appetizer order of their Veal Ravioli, Eggplant Parm and their House Salad (baby greens, tomato, cannellini beans, pancetta, fennel, vinaigrette). The Meatballs just might be the B.B.I.T. (best balls in town) and the Salt-Encrusted Branzino, filleted table-side, is simply perfection.
Great quality Italian food. As far as Italian restaurants go I would definitely rate this one in my top 10 in Houston. There are only a couple that are very exceptional but this one is decently priced and has an overall good authenticity.
My Kind of Place. We have been going here since it opened a few years ago and after our dinner last Friday we are going to keep going. I had a wonderful ravioli and my husband had a veal chop special that may be the best meat dish ever. He also ordered the rissotto, tho I warned him I had it before and it was just basically American rice and gravy with no resemblence to the real Italian dish. To our delight they have changed the recipe and now it is made with the correct rice, which makes all the difference in the world. Next time I'm ordering what he had. Arturo's keeps getting better and better.
ARTURO'S UPTOWN ITALIANO.
I will never step food inside this place again! I almost swallowed a ring -shaped piece of metal about two-thirds the size of penny that was in my pasta dish.
A friend decided to hold her birthday dinner here on a Thursday evening. It did not take long for us to be seated, and service was decent. For the price, the food could have been much better though. Everything on menu was very pricey. We started of with calamari, which was good. I had the Chicken Pesto, but it was very bland so I had to ask for Tabasco sauce to add some flavor and spice to my dish. I had eaten a little less than half my dish when bit into something hard that I thought was a bone since i had ordered a chicken dish. I was very surprised that it was a piece of metal when I took it out of my mouth. When I called the waiter over and showed him what I had found in my dish, he gave me the excuse that it was something that came from the dishwasher. He asked me what I wanted to do, but didn't apologize or offer to comp my meal. Another person had to come out, and tell me that they would take care of my meal. Later he came and told me that desert would be on the house, but when the bill came I was shocked to see I had been charged for it. The waiter's excuse was that the restaurant had already comped the main dish so they would comp the desert as well. Total lack of courtesy from a restaurant. You can get better service and food at a better price from Olive Garden.
Up Date. As a regular at Arturo's I heard there was a chef change at Arturo's and so four of us went over to give it a try. We all agreed that the food was as good, or better, than ever. We each had our favorites (fish special, veal chop, a seafood stew and sausage pasta) and all were excellent. Service still friendly and helpful. Good to see a favorite restaurant get even better.
Where is Arturo?. I love Arutos! It is one of my favorite restaurants in town! I heard that Arturo is not anymore at Arturos! is that true?
Great!. The place is great, and the location is easy to find. Valet parking is available which is a big plus to me since I really hate parking anywhere. Service was pretty good and so the food. There are variety of choices in their menu that you will enjoy and the prices are pretty decent. Would definitely come back if I ever crave again for Italian food :)
A Favorite. We try to hit all the "must see" (or be seen) places, but we find ourselves going back to Arturo's as often as not. The waiters are well trained and know their wines and the wine list is good. Arturo is a master in the kitchen and a pretty good talker if he comes by your table. Everyone is friendly and the place is very attractive without being uncomfortably so. Try the pasta with meat sauce and the snapper special.
Beautiful and delicious. I WENT THERE WITH COWORKERS AND ORDERED THE FRUTTI DI MARE. IT WAS VERY DELICIOUS, BUT I WAS STILL STARVING. I WENT HOME AND ATE HALF A PIZZA. IT WAS EXPENSIVE FOR SOMETHING NOT FILLING. I AM A 120 LB WOMAN, NOT A BODY BUILDER. BUT I CAN'T REALLY BLAME THE RESTARAUNT. THAT'S JUST SEAFOOD I GUESS...
Beautiful and Well Run. I enjoyed my time at Arturo's so much that I am writing my first review, so don't be too hard on me if I leave something out. First off, the place is drop dead gorgeous. You enter through a covered patio that may be the nicest in town and then there are the interior stone walls and a warm glow about the place. You have to see it for yourself. None of this would matter if the food weren't good, and it is, very. I realize I'm not so good at discription, so I say just go there and enjoy. I did. Great fish dishes.
