“Really sharp decor and background music with old and foreign classics.”
“That was a nice touch that they just gave us that & a spoon is just the perfect amound because we usually don't eat desert.”
“It is more restaurant than bar, not a meat market, but there are always some interesting and pretty people at the horseshoe bar.”
“She likes the pasta.”
“Great food, great service, great menu!”
“If you like Italian and want a great place to go, make sure you head to Arturo's just as long as you stay away from the waiter Geurmo (he was so bad that we made sure to get his name on the way out so that we would request anyone but him).”
“Other than the bad apple, we enjoyed it and will be back.”
“The great service starts w/ a gentleman at the front opening doors for its guests.”
“He pushed one of us to order the Veal Tbone special that turned out to be over forty dollars.”

One of my favorite Italiano spots in
town.
Visits to Arturo's always include an appetizer order of their Veal Ravioli, Eggplant Parm and their House Salad (baby greens, tomato, cannellini beans, pancetta, fennel, vinaigrette). The Meatballs just might be the B.B.I.T. (best balls in town) and the Salt-Encrusted Branzino, filleted table-side, is simply perfection.
We go once a week for the Branzino, a sea bass, but the rest of the menu is just as good. Everything here is as it should be at a fine restaurant. This is our favorite in Houston and we recommend it often to friends.
Good Food!.
This place has two faces but ignore the Blazer and Blue rinse crowd and make it your own. I am always in Jeans and a T shirt when I go here and have never felt overdressed.
If you need a quiet chat with someone then outside is best although the booths inside are dapper but it can get too loud when crowded.
I always get by sitting outside here in the early evening and sinking a glass or two of Pinot Grigio and dining Al Fresco on the Portobello & Goat Cheese salad or the Beef Carpaccio. These two dishes alone are worth the visit. Should you want something more substantial then the Milanese is amongst the best I have ever tasted.
The bar staff can be a bit snooty, just depends who you get serving you. There is one barperson here who has their head so far up their posterior that they can see the back of their incisors but that can happen in most restaurants of this genre. Just put your cool head on and go to the pavement patio if you can't be doing with it.
My usual rule about Minstrone and Zabaglione (per my review of Maggiano's, wot?! you never read it? ) has to be waived here, but there are always exceptions to the rule and, it's my rule so I can break it if I want OK?
Wine list is good but a bit pricey for the real stuff.
Parking is easy, lots of other good places close by. I like it.
One of the best.. Arturo's is on the short list for best restaurant in Houston, a great dining city. There is a lot of free parking, the place is not overly loud and it's lovely, the staff is helpful and the food is outstanding. The new chef has ramped up the level by several notches. They even have a great steak.
We recommend Arturo's.. Arturo's is one of our favorites, or really, our favorite. They try to make you feel comfortable, from hostess and servers to management. The kitchen excells.
Hitting the Mark. We have dined at Arturo's four times and now are sure that this is a very fine restaurant. Wine list, food and service are all excellent. The management is attentive and available to grant requests. Nice bar, too.
Italian Food. Food was good but the service is far from expectations, especially when the tip is automatically charged at 20%.
A Really Good Restaurant. The waiter told us today was the first day for their new menu, so we decided to give the new items a chance. Good move on our part. The Caprese with big juicy tomato slices and buffalo mozzerella (much tastier than regular mozz) was a big hit with my wife. I had a dried beef and agugula app. that was equally good. She, the health freak, had a whole wheat pasta with spinach and avocado that was very tasty. I had a pasta with lobster that was as good as anything could be. I think a really good restaurant is in the process of becoming a truly great one.
Great Food!!. went there with a group of 10 and had a great time there. We had very picky eaters with us but we all loved the food. Calamari and mussels for appetizers were very, very good. I had the veal and it was delicious. The restaurant is very upscale and maybe a bit stuffy, but it's not unreasonably priced. It's a tough reservation to get and they even turned away 2-somes so call early. You won't regret the experience.
Going Strong. I've always liked the food here, but it has definitely gotten even better on my last few visits (We are regulars). Good job by a bunch of nice guys. The veal chop special and the steak are my favorites, the wife loves the snapper and clam pasta dish. Keep it up, Mr. Sadler, and you will keep us.
