The Scene – This little pink house in old Seabrook survives features impeccably fresh seafood purchased daily from nearby markets. A dozen or so tables with mismatched chairs are scattered throughout the cozy main dining room. Dark walls and hardwoods reflect a warm glow of candlelight while soft music plays in the background. The atmosphere is upscale casual and infinitely welcoming. Servers are unobtrusive and well-versed on the menu. – – The Food – Expect a range of Thai favorites, including pad thai and tiger cry, but it's the menu's seafood dishes that stand out.…

CLOSED -- Victim of Hurricane Ike
by wadester at Citysearch
Merlion's is closed, at least for the time being. The restaurant tragically fell victim to Hurricane Ike, and was completely demolished by the storm. We drove by the location two days after the storm, and were shocked to find only scraps of timbers laying on the lot of the former restaurant.
Great place, but ask the price of the wine!
by wesandjoann at Citysearch
We have been regular guests of Merlion for almost 2 years. I took some friends tonight for a great dinner.
One poor server was waiting on 11 tables at one time,
We were offered a tasting of several wines and chose a bottle.
We ordered an appetizer, an inexpensive main course and a dessert shared by 3 people.
I was presented a bill for $ 326.00! This included 2 bottles of wine @ $95 a bottle! I felt like we were taken advantage of. They have no wine list and no prices.
We intend to go back though...the food is great!
- Pros: Great owners-great food
- Cons: Never enough waitstaff
