We almost didn't go here because of the negative reviews! They were so wrong! The service is great, cool people, very friendly atmosphere! The music was awesome! We were trying to find a place to hang out when we are in Kemah and we most certainly have found it!

Animal Bar would be a better name.... I thought the other place I went to was scary until I walked into the Monkey Bar. It seems to be a Kemah thing, because this place and most of the other bars had rude bartenders. They don't seem to care if you are there or not. Took forever to get a drink. Then to add insult to injury, we didn't get harassed by two big scary dudes, ...we got harassed by two big scary women......and they were animals.

Don't Waste Your Time On This DIVE!!!. I was having a good time at The Terrace Cafe and some guy talked us all into leaving and walking around the corner to Monkey Bar. The named sounded cool. That is all that was cool about this place. It was full of ...."Dirt Bags". One of those places were even the women are missing a few teeth. Prices were outrageous and there were drinks on our bill that we didn't order. I tried to argue it, but the guy said pay or I will call the cops......

Rough Crowd!. This happened several months ago. I am a little late with writing this review. They were raided by what appeared to be ATF , U.S. Marshals and local police. I don't know what you have to do to have that happen, but that is not my idea of a fun. The place was a little rough anyway, and I have noticed the crowd in the area seems to be a little rough. I had a similar experience at Zone 504. Other than that the bar has potential. Maybe I just went on a wrong night.

bad all around. the service was bad, they were disrespectful, and at the end of the night they over charged me 100 bucks, and they did not repay me, dont waste your time, this place isnt worth it.

well.... the best thing about this bar is......zone 504 is next door,walking distance!!! the beer may be cold but so is the mood!!!

So much fun!. this place is always welcoming to the regulars as well as the new-comers. the staff is great

the atmosphere is laid back and casual, and the area, kemah, is wonderful. i would definately recommend if you want a nice, relaxed place to hang out!

watch out for the gorilla!
