“He never uses tartar sauce for his fish if the batter is good, but he had to use the sauce on that meal.”
“the appetizers are reasonably priced, with a decent drink menu.”

“Worst of all, the service was terrible.”
“They were good, but you can get all-you-can -eat oysters at the East Star Buffet on NASA Rd 1 that are Amazingly good and fresh for a much lower price.”
“Our server was slow but friendly.”
Disappointed. My husband and I had dinner here a few months ago. We love tapas and were eager top try this place. Although most of the tapas were good, they were over-priced. Worst of all, the service was terrible. Will not return.
Phil's is CLOSED. Phil's Place is CLOSED. We drove down that way last weekend, and it is no longer there. However there is a new Italian restaurant opening up in the same strip center: I cannot recall the name of it, off-hand.
We will never go back.. Bottom line- The food is made as cheaply as possible and they price it as though it's made with high quality ingredients. I don't know how you could think a small plate of pasta with NO sides or bread for $15 is low priced. I am a small 5 ft. tall girl who ALWAYS has leftovers (especially w pasta) and I was easily able to eat the entire thing. I had a New Orleans style pasta with shrimp, chicken and sausage. The sausage tasted like Eckridge sausage (flavorless and boring) and the sauce was nothing to get excited about. They barely put any chicken in it (just little pieces) and a few shrimps along with some thawed out bell peppers. My fiance had the seafood platter which had way too much batter. The fries tasted just like Wendy's. He never uses tartar sauce for his fish if the batter is good, but he had to use the sauce on that meal. I will admit that we cook A LOT, and watch the Food Network like it's our job. We know the difference between high quality food and Cheap, and there was nothing high quality about it. They use the atmosphere to fool you. We did get their oysters too. They were good, but you can get all-you-can -eat oysters at the East Star Buffet on NASA Rd 1 that are Amazingly good and fresh for a much lower price. They just don't serve it to you on a fancy platter there. I guess it might be a good place for you if you just want to go have a cigarette, drink a beer and listen to the music.
Smokiest Bar in Clear Lake Area. Good food, good gumbo. Very friendly. The last time tried to go, I thought they place was on fire from the smoke pouing out the door and I am a tolerant non-smoker.
Lively strip center restaurant and bar for Gulf Coast seafood and late-night cocktails..
The Scene
Tucked inside a shopping center between Kemah and League City is one of the area's growing number of non-Boardwalk seafood spots. Inside, the windowless restaurant (who wants a view of the parking lot anyway?), 40-something locals congregate on cozy banquettes and raised tables. A large bar (complete with oyster shucking station) dominates the room, which is decorated in the hunter greens and dark, shiny woods of most self-respecting pubs. Both bar and food service is brisk.
The Food
The menu far surpasses average bar fare with creative Cajun-inspired seafood offerings. Start with the signature shrimp cocktail with seven jumbo shrimp, oysters on the half shell or a spicy bowl of gumbo. Oysters Bienville is baked in a rich sauce (ideal for sopping up with bread), as are blue crab fingers sautéed in garlic butter. The shrimp and oyster po'boy is dressed with house-made remoulade and fresh cut fries. Steaks, burgers and salads round out the menu.
best place to listen to live music in south shore harbor. although the decor is much to be desired of, the place is small and cozy, quite laidback with booths adding a personal touch to enjoying a meal. one of it's main highlights: live music playing old school beats which caters to an older crowd. you'll find yourself singing along and bopping your head, maybe even dancing. the appetizers are reasonably priced, with a decent drink menu. if any, come here to enjoy the music and company of friends.*
