“Great Food, Absolutely the best around here, however the service was very slow.”
Love it!!. Floyd's has the best crawfish and gumbo around! We've never had a bad experience with the food or waitstaff. Try the boiled crawfish with the Manuel sauce on top- it's the best thing ever!!!
Spicy Crawfish SO YUMMY.
OK the crawfish are Great . i eat there about 4x a week. the gumbos are the best . Everything here is good.
the waitstaff is friendly and assertive. thanks
Leaves you speechless... Dawg!. I would recommend Floyd's Cajun Seafood to anyone - including the pickiest of picky eaters! Even when they are packed to a level of standing room only, the service is exceptional and the food is always spot-on delicious. My favorites here include the crab bisque and the crawfish. I have eaten bisque at a lot of different places, but Floyd's always rises leaps and bounds above the rest. I was reminded of this last night when I ate some that was sub-par at a different restaurant. ((my mistake!)) My family LOVES their outrageously fresh oysters on the half shell too. When it comes to Floyds, I do not mind if I have to wait 30-45 minutes for a table - it is ALWAYS well worth it. If you haven't been to visit "Dawg" ((you'll meet him when you get there, and he's always wearing golf shoes!)) get over there. You are truly missing out on a cajun gem!
Best Crawfish anywhere!. I cannot say enough about this place. It is awesome. The service is great, the staff is friendly and the food is the best. The gumbo is the "bomb". Great flavor. The freshly shucked oysters on the half shell are fabulous! But I cannot fail to tell you about the crawfish. I have tried many, many local surrounding restaurants, including Galveston and Houston and the crawfish at Floyd's are the best by far! Nicely seasoned and they actually soak their crawfish to make them juicy and spicy, not dry and overcooked. This place is generally very busy on the weekends and I've seen it hopping even during the week, but it is SO worth the wait time! Great place to have alot of fun after work!
N.O. Style Barbecue Crabs. Great gumbo, red beans and sausage, jambalaya and the best barbecue crabs (avoid Sartin's crabs). Abita beers. One of the guys here served his own homemade ice cream on Saturdays; it was superb, and I wish he were still here. I've been back many times alone, and once with a large party (all sere satisfied).
Worst service I've ever encountered. My experience was so BAD I felt compelled to write this review the same day. Going away thing lunch. Called up in the morning to ask if we could reserve a table because we had 12. The host told us to just come on in, it wouldn't be crowded during lunch. We got there early, 1125, and found the place was packed. We talked with the manager, told him the situation with the phone call, he said he'd try something. We got seated at a table so small that three in our party would have to eat in their laps, they were basically seated in an aisle. They declined to order until an extra table besides could be cleared to accomodate. By this time, it was already 45 minutes into the lunch hour. An extra table wasn't cleared until fifteen minutes later. Food didn't arrive until fifteen minutes after that, some of it already cold (soggy fries, blech). One person in our group was so miffed that he decided to walk to the subway nearby to get his lunch and by the time he got back we were finally getting out food. By checkout time we were already thirty minutes over the lunch hour. The waiter, not asking whether we'd like the check on the same or different ticket just crammed everything on one even though it was lunch-time and we all looked like we came from work. The waiter gave us a pen and told us to write our names next to what we'd had even though the ticket collapsed multiple orders into one line and there wasn't any room. Nothing got sorted out, of course, for another half an hour. Total time for lunch 2:15. Gratuity given: 18% automatic. I saw the manager walking around out front, seemed like he was trying to avoid our table. If this was Floyd or his son, then, well, I don't know what to say to somebody who could ignore 12 dissatisfied looking customers. Was the food worth it? Absolutely not. Hardly better than A*be's or S*artine's. Maybe worse, and defintely more expensive. Nobody in our group will be going back, even those who have been there before.
The REAL Floyds!.
Awesome gumbo and great service make this a must try in the Clear Lake area!
Floyd is there most day overseeing the business, and his son is there the rest, so you fell like family !
Great local hang out!. The bar is always full and fun. The service is exceptional. They really care about your experience there. They're always nice the food is outstanding. I love their creamy crab bisque & gumbo. It's a great value for fresh, cajun food. 2 thumbs up!
Expect fresh Gulf Coast seafood and authentic Cajun fare at local institution Floyd Landry's casual eatery..
The Scene
Set along the Highway 45 feeder road in a massive strip center, Floyd's looks like an old wooden boat bobbing in the parking lot. Step into a laid-back Louisiana small-town atmosphere, with a horseshoe bar, oyster-shucking station and three separate dining rooms, with the rowdy crowd in the front and families in the back. The staff is chatty, friendly and relaxed, except during busy lunchtime hours.
The Food
Seasonal Gulf Coast seafood and traditional Cajun favorites highlight the menu, with sectons for cold and hot appetizers and fried and broiled entrees. Choose from such favorites as fried alligator and frog legs to whole red snapper and crawfish etoufee. If you're not in the mood for seafood, opt for the all-beef burgers and fried chicken with gravy. During late spring and early summer, the spicy crawfish is a crowd favorite. Try the sampler platters for a taste of everything.
Great Seafood!. I had Grilled Soft Shell Crabs with Dirty Rice and it was fabulous. Fun casual atmosphere. We had a party of six and everything came quickly. Waitstaff very attentive.
