Disappointing. Very disappointing.

I went to the the one in Sugar Land, Texas. The ambiance and interior were upscale and attractive with an attractive bar and pretty good service, what you'd expect for a more expensive trendy dining establishment. But I was very disappointed in the food.

I am used to New York-quality authentic Chinese food, and PF Chang's Bistro just doesn't measure up. In fact it's not even close. The chefs have no subtlety or delicacy in making these dishes. The entrees were over-sauced, over-flavored and over-spiced, to the point that you couldn't taste the actual food and vegetables. The sauces were overpowering and upsetting. Also, the wonton dumplings in the wonton soup are under-cooked, I think on purpose, so the dough has the consistency and texture resembling cookie batter without the sweetness. I found this way of preparing wontons inferior to traditional wonton soups.

For the prices they charge, you'd think they could get an experienced Chinese native-trained chef, but the food tastes like it was prepared by an American trying to cook in Chinese style. A big failure IMO.

If all you care about is atmosphere, then you'll find PF Chang's has very upscale clientele and nice ambiance. Very well-dressed and well-heeled customers. If you care anything about the quality of the cuisine and authentic and high quality food preparation, I would skip this place and skip the hefty check as well.

Great Service. This particular location has great service and good food. I enjoyed the professionalism in their waitstaff. I had a waiter named Trey and he was awesome. He really knows the flavors and what goes with what. He recommended a drink that was delicious also. He seemed like he really enjoys his work and knows how to make customers happy.

Our favorite. The manager(? ~ maybe owner?) Mike Brown makes sure that this is a well run and comfortable place to eat. The food is always great and the service is wonderful 99% of the time. We've only encountered one bad waitress and she is no longer there. We love the Spicy wontons which are no longer on the menu but they will always make them for us!)
