Escobar review 7/16/2010. i went there twice , i had a very nice experience, its nice, eloquent, and small, i love the music,i love the crowd,i love the lights, but i brought more than enough money, i had to pay for parking, and youll meet this guy name Sung Kim who gets you in for free if you text your number to him and he gives you 1 free drink, -do you think he will give u another free drink? -Nah- he wont-..after your free drink from Sung, every drink is like 5 dollars,I brough 120 dollars, i paid about 60 dollars on drinks all nite- id give this Bar a 5 rating if i didnt have to pay for parking and i had to pay 5 dollars after the free Drink from Sung Kim
Rude lady. Went there this weekend with my hubby and another couple the people in the entrance were just looking at us till i asked " are yall letting anyone in the guy stayed quiet and a lady coming from inside sais u only get in with reservations. She started pointin g at people that she wanted in there she was very rude we asked to speak to a manager they totally ignore us
Birthday Bash gone wrong. I decided to try this club out b/c my friend told me it was a cool spot to go hit up for my birthday, so I decided to pay 200$ for a bottle of Grey Goose and 10 ppl free along with my entrance, we get there, the front lady had a really bad attitude & decides to charge me (the bday girl) when I had payed allready, when my friends arrived they were denied entrance b/c sopposly the club was "packed". Our waitress had a attitude, had to wait to get clean cups, cranberry juice, ect. Finally our guy friend decides to flirt w/the waitress and then she started to do her job, since he tipped her. Finally I ask the bouncer nicely if I can get my friends in since I payed 200$ for a bottle and entrance and he decides to be a douche and scream at me on my bday "do you wanna go home?!" I was so mortified, embarressed and ultimately upset, I did'nt wanna make a scene so I just ignored him and went on with my friends. The night was so bad we just left it at that. I never met so much ppl who are so rude, when in fact we are payin for our service. The only way you will get free stuff, good customer service is if you know somebody or someone. I hope this works in letting ppl know how bad my bday party went and how bad of a club it was.
Hate it. First of all if you are a guy make sure you have 10 girls with you and maybe they'll let you in....I went to this crappy club not long ago with 2 guy friends and my bf and they didn't let us in. The only obvious problem was the girl to guys ratio... They try to make it look like this place is so exclusive when in reality is not...This place is not good, there is a bunch of Middle easter people ( i have no problem with Middle easterns ) only with those wannabes "Affliction shirt-wearing losers", they are so hilarious to watch but not so much to deal with...So I don't recommend this place in fact I can honestly say that it can also be dangerous my friend got something put on her drink there so GIRLS BE CAREFUL!!!
MUK MUK BAR. I am just callin it like i see it! but any way I would not recommend this A- rab, muk muk, middle eastern or what ever you wanna this place. all you white or latin people are not welcome here. the parking, the drinks, and the etire club sukkkz a big rhino kock. the door guys act like where in some NY club not letting patrons in as it were busy inside like they do at a NY city club. Save your money. dont go! there alot of better clubs around the corner in midtown area.
go there if you want to drugged!.
I went to Escobar about two weeks ago to celebrate a friend's birthday. The music and everything was fine and we were all having a good time. Then one of my friends noticed a creepy guy that was following around all of my girlfriends. We were getting a little freaked out but we weren't too concerned b/c we were just trying to have a good time. Then it turns out that one of my friends was given a drink and she ended up sharing it w/ a few other ppl. Unfortunately the drink was drugged and several of my girlfriends fell victim. My other friend had some crazy chick throw coke in her face while she was in the bathroom.
I just want to inform all women that go there:Please be aware that they allow creepy guys in there that WILL roofie your drink. I am an avid club goer and love to go out dancing yet I must say this place is the most unsafe place I've been to in Houston.
A JOKE. This place is not at all what it claims to be. It advertises itself as an upscale club for a mature crowd. It is far from that. There is a female relative/friend of the owner that walks around the club "accidentally" pushing into you and "accidentally" pouring drinks on you. If you dare confront her, you will be escorted out of the club. This said female actually started a fight TWICE in the club and was not escorted out either time. There is a sign posted outside the club that says 25 and up yet they allow anyone to go in. My friend was wearing some clean, new skater style shoes with a collared shirt and nice jeans with no holes in them. The doormen would not allow him to go in because he was in "tennis shoes". Our mistake was not finding another club to go to when he was not allowed entry. We had our hopes up to go to Escobar so we actually went to the closest Wal-Mart and bought him some dress shoes. When we came back an hour later at 12 there were several guys in there wearing t-shirts, jeans with holes in them and old raggedy converse tennis shoes. Even at 12 am this place was almost empty. My guess is they put on such a show at the door to make them appear exclusive. The crowd inside, or lack thereof, said it all. I have been to Epic (right across the street) and that place gets packed by 11. Before going to Escobar I had seen the low rating but I am the type of person to not make judgment until I witness firsthand. Save yourself some grief and do not go there. The ratings are there for a reason.
Pure unadulterated RUBBISH!. 2 issues! First was shoes, they didn't let me in cos i was wearing sneakers, so me and my friends went to freakin walmart to get a new pair of leather shoes. When i got in, i saw not 1 but 5, yup FIVE, guys in sneakers! One was even wearing a raggedy pair of converse and he was in! That was the first! Secondly, security was f up! Instead of throwing out the people who start the fights, they throw out the people who try to defend themselves from the shitheads who started the fight! My friend had a drink thrown at her by this woman and next thing we know we were asked to leave the club! That woman and her bf who had the guts to start the drama didn't have the guts to meet us outside and settle it. Instead they had their loyal bunch of servants try to scare us, FROM BEHIND THE WALLS!! Never going here again!! So if you wanna get thrown out for NOT starting a fight, go right ahead to this club!
Needs to refresh on club ambiance 101. My friend reserved a VIP area. It was on the right, in the back, near the men's bathroom. Though the interior is nice, I expected better. I could see why no one was sitting on the second couch; it was diagonal to the men's restroom. You could actually see the urinals and men relieving themselves. The smell of urine filled the VIP area. I tried to numb my sense of smell through champagne. It was only a temporary solution, for after the glass of champagne was finished, the smell of urine was back. I've been to alot of clubs, and this is the first to have had a really bad smell. The security guard told me it was club policy for that door to be open. If the rule has been placed as a security measure, they should come up with a different solution. If it's for convenience of the male patrons, they are dismissing the ambiance of their VIP crowd. For a club that tries to position itself as elite and upscale, see their website, you would think it would care about the smell of its establishment. The VIP section in this club is NOT worth the money.
