ANDREW is the BEST!

I went in with super over processed hair and ready to chop it all off; Andrew listened to my concerns and advised me that my curly hair would basically end up ageing me and looking like a fro if i were to cut it as short as i wanted. He suggested we color my hair back to it's natural color and I love it!!!! I recommend Andrew for anyone with curly hair!

Believe the hype - May and SOK are the BEST!!!

I have let my hair grow for the last 1.5 yrs. in order to donate it to "Locks of Love". My previous stylist moved to another state, so when it came time to finally cut my hair, I took to Citysearch to find someone new. The first visit with a new stylist is always a bit unnerving, but when that person must be trusted to cut off a whole foot of your hair...well, that can be downright terrifying.

I read the customer reviews for multiple salons on the Citysearch website and ultimately decided to schedule an appointment with May at Salon on Kirby. This particular stylist/salon caught my attention due to the very detailed and overwhelmingly positive reviews submitted by customers. I was not disappointed - my experience was fabulous and I am 100% satisfied with the services I received.

Making an appointment via telephone was quick and easy; the staff member manning the telephones was polite and helpful. I was able to get an appointment for the date I requested. The salon is conveniently located off Hwy 59 at Kirby and parking is readily available. Upon my arrival, multiple staff members welcomed me with a smile and offered me a beverage. May was on time for our scheduled appointment and was as friendly and welcoming as other reviewers have described. She took the time to really listen to my admittedly vague notions as to how I would like my hair styled and answered all of my questions. May was the consummate professional, making several helpful suggestions and repeatedly taking the time to make sure we were on the same page. With her obvious knowledge and talent as a stylist as well as her warm, engaging personality, May set my mind at ease in no time flat. I didn't even flinch when she clipped off my two 12-inch ponytails :)

The salon itself is very clean, comfortable, and attractive. The decor is contemporary/urban loft with ample comfortable seating throughout; the 2 walls of floor-to-ceiling windows make for great lighting and views. The shampoo station is spectacular - you'll relax in a shiatsu massage recliner while being further pampered with an amazing scalp massage. The prices were exactly as quoted to me at scheduling and consistent with other area salons. After mentioning I was referred to SOK by Citysearch, May provided me with a complimentary Kerastase treatment that I hadn't even realized I was eligible to receive (I hadn't noticed the coupon posted on the website). May takes great care of her customers - she is just a wonderful lady!

Thanks to the skilled artistry of May, I now have a gorgeous new "look" that I can't wait to show off. The cut is amazing - beautiful layers and body at exactly the length we discussed. I couldn't be more pleased - I love it! And the color? May gave me incredible highlights and lowlights that are subtle yet beautiful - my hair has returned to life! Thanks to all the reviewers who recommended May and Salon on Kirby for pointing me in the right direction. I now count myself amongst May's ever-expanding group of loyal customers - she is the best! To anyone out there looking for a new stylist on the same Citysearch pages I was perusing just one week ago, I wholeheartedly recommend booking an appointment with May. She is still relatively new to Houston and welcomes new clients. You will not be disappointed!

Casey is the Best!

I was unhappy with my hair and ready for a change. Found SOK and Casey on City Search. The reviews say it all! Casey looked at my features, talked to me, and matched color and cut to what suited me best. I have been to him three times, and at the beginning of each visit, Casey will take the time to talk and look at my hair. At my request, Casey makes suggestions, and because of his great eye for cut and clor, my hair is looking terrific. Thank you Casey!
